Dave Zangaro (1:42)

Feel like we just did a podcast, Reuben.

Reuben Frank (1:43)

I think we did one a few hours ago.

Dave Zangaro (1:45)

It feels like that.

This is Eagle Eye Podcast brought to you by Nissan, Reuben Frank and Dave Zangaro. If you missed it on Monday night, we got word that Landon Dickerson was going to IR with that knee injury. So there's an emergency podcast. If you haven't listened to it, go check that one out. We'll talk about Landon a little bit on this episode, but our full thoughts about the injury, about the way the Eagles handled it, about their options going forward are in that emergency podcast.

Reuben Frank (2:12)

It's our first emergency podcast in a while. I think last summer we had, every time how we made a trade.

Dave Zangaro (2:17)

We made five last August.

Reuben Frank (2:19)

We had one for every trade. I don't know why, but yeah, no trades this summer. I don't think we've done one since.

Dave Zangaro (2:26)

When we look at our year-over-year metrics, we're going to blame Howie Roseman for not making trades.

Reuben Frank (2:32)

Yeah, we need more emergency pods in our lives.

Dave Zangaro (2:36)

That one was fun though. Big news for the Eagles, obviously.

We'll get into what Shawn Manion had to say about Landon Dickerson's injury, about the way the Eagles are going to proceed without Dickerson. We talked to Michael Clay and Vic Fangio, so we're going to talk about all of the takeaways from the coordinators today. Ruby, you have your latest stats piece up, so I want to hear a few of your favorite stats from that article. Then later, we're going to get into a bunch of questions from listeners because we're a little backlogged. A lot came through during the game, so we want to leave plenty of time for that. But let's start with Vic Fangio, always illuminating. What did you take away from hearing Vic today?

Reuben Frank (3:17)

Well, he was pretty blunt about how disappointed he was in the performance. It was weird because I think they did some things well. They held Washington under 300 yards, which is pretty good. They got some big stops when they needed to.

The two-point conversion, Moro, that was just a tremendous play. I thought some guys played well. I thought Rick Wallen played really well.

I thought Epps played well and Jordan Davis. Obviously, Zach Ballen had maybe the best game I've ever seen him play.

Dave Zangaro (3:45)

Jalen Carter played well, I thought.

Reuben Frank (3:47)

Yeah. But overall, they were leaking against the run, especially in the first half. No takeaways, no sacks from the D-line.

The big plays were the thing that was missing, I thought. He said he was disappointed in the pass rush. And just overall, disappointed in the two drives that Washington had in the fourth quarter. Two long, 60-plus-yard touchdown drives that made a comfortable lead a little bit scary.

Dave Zangaro (4:16)

Yeah. And I think that's a fair way for Vic to look at it. I think you have to be disappointed about the way that game ended in the fourth quarter, because they gave up those back-to-back touchdown drives. You know, if those two touchdowns came in the first half, I think you feel a little bit better about it, because overall, you look at the 22 points under 300 yards, you feel pretty good about that. But when they needed them the most, they gave up two long drives. And I don't think it helped that the offense couldn't sustain anything in the second half. Punt, punt, punt, punt. You know, that kept the defense on the field. And I think they did get a little gasped by the end of it.
