Suno adds watermarks for AI music spam | Google Maps books hotels

Suno is rolling out watermarking, and they're also gonna be curbing how many downloads you can make because they're getting in a ton of lawsuits and they're trying to fight what they're calling AI music spam, which I think there's some pros and cons to this. I actually make AI genre music, and I make about $2,500 a month from it, so I wanna tell you a little bit about what's going on with this case. Mirindle is signing a $100 million Google Cloud deal to train self-improving AI, and Google Maps is turning Ask Maps, that kind of button that they have in there, into an agent that orders food. It can book hotels. It's gonna be able to do way more than just asking Google Maps something with Gemini.
AI moderation is not always perfect, and recently it has hit Reddit, Discord, and Tumblr on positives. Also, a company called Naive has just raised $28.5 million to let AI agents spin up and run entire companies. I wanted to do a startup spotlight, and they've raised almost $30 million. So this is an interesting one. On the podcast, I talk a lot about different models that you may not have tried, like Mistral from France, Coheer from Canada, DeepSeek from China, and Grok and Perplexity, and even Meta's AI, which just came out with a bunch of new coding features and a new coding AI. Now my question to you is, have you tried all of these different AI models? Because if you want to, it typically is going to cost you $20 to get a subscription to all of those different platforms. And I will be honest, some of those models are better at answering specific types of questions than others. For a lot of what I do, I use Anthropic, and I use OpenAI, and I use Google as some of my main powerhouses, but I use some of the other models for different tasks. DeepSeek, honestly, for example, is something that can get things down very fast and very cheaply if you run out of your token credits. Suno is now rolling out the new watermarking and they're doing audio fingerprints for their AI Music Generator, something that I use all the time. I love Suno. I've made tons of music there and actually make $2,500 a month from my music catalog. A ton of it is either AI generated or it's just AI empowered. So I do a lot of meditation music is like my niche. I started it in college, and so I'll still drop albums on there every once in a while on the weekends. And in order to do that, I actually just use Suno to generate the meditation music in background and it's my voice I'm talking over top of it. But yeah, from that, I still make $2,500 to $3,000 a month, super, super passively, and it's kind of a fun side project. But something that is happening is that a lot of different lawsuits have been leveled against Suno. And to be fair, I think they did scrape out a ton of different people's music that wasn't licensed properly.
Now they're getting sued. I think they made a settlement with Warm Music Group. And the other part of this whole settlement is the goal to try to stop low-quality AI songs from flooding Spotify and Apple Music without disclosure, so without people knowing that they're AI-generated. Deezer apparently has a tool that can detect AI-generated music, and it's removing any AI-generated music from its platform that doesn't get a certain threshold of streams. So if it's a popular song, they leave it. But if it's an AI-generated song that has no streams, a bunch of people are just posting and they're actually cleaning it off the platform. They just don't want it on there. So in this deal, and what Suno is rolling out right now, downloads are soon going to be restricted to paying customers. There's going to be a monthly cap on how many you can download. So I think people are downloading like thousands in a month, and that was causing issues when you try to upload thousands a month to Spotify. It was very spammy.
