It's October 9th. This is New York Rangers News Today, powered by AI Everything happening with your team. I'm Corey with the story. Alright, so some exciting moves from the New York Rangers. They just snagged Pavel Dorofeyev from the Vegas Golden Knights, and the buzz is real around this deal. Mike Sullivan made it clear, he wanted to talk to Alexis Lafrenière right away, which shows he's focused on keeping things steady on that power play. Now, Dorofeyev had an impressive season last year, racking up 20 goals, and he's known for being a major scoring threat, especially on the power play. You might think that could push Lafrenière to the side, but Sullivan assured him he's got a key role on that first unit. That's a big vote of confidence. Lafrenière has been grinding in that net front role, and Sullivan's been praising his evolution. Dorofeyev's addition frees him up to focus more on that bumper spot, which could be a game changer. It's all about chemistry on the ice, and having both of these forwards together could shake things up for the Rangers.

The power play hasn't hit its stride yet, going 3 for 14 in their first five games.

But Sullivan isn't sweating it. He knows integrating a player like Dorofeyev takes time. It's a work in progress, and that patience could really pay off as they build their rhythm. So, keep an eye on how this unfolds.

With talent like Lafrenière and Dorofeyev, the potential's there for a strong power play as the season rolls on. It'll be interesting to see how they adjust and get those numbers up.
