I actually hate natural flavors because it's a term that they can just hide whatever they want. 3,000 different chemicals that they can use under the term natural flavor. Problem is some natural flavors might be fine. It truly might be some fruit extracts or things like that, but then just tell us that's what you're having. Having metals in a huge amount, which I will say happens in grains drinks because they're taking so many veggies at once and putting it, you know, crushing them down into a little green powder. Things like the spinach you're eating, the carrots, all of that, it's got the cofactors in it to help get the heavy metals out of your body. Some tumeric were just rice powder, literally like sprayed yellow with barely a tiny, tiny bit of tumeric compared to the tumeric that is rich, full of nutrients and bioavailable. Over 90 percent of them had forms of Viagra in it, but never on the label. Like that's how crazy the supplement industry is.

Karalynne Call (1:09)
I am. Yep.
Sean Kelly (1:10)
So what are you speaking about?
Karalynne Call (1:12)
Mental health and just my journey with mental health and not losing hope and the healing that's out there in the food, how it plays a part in it, things like that.
Sean Kelly (1:20)
It's all connected, right?
Karalynne Call (1:22)
Yeah.
Sean Kelly (1:22)
The food and the mental health.
Karalynne Call (1:23)
It is. Yeah.
Sean Kelly (1:24)
I have a pretty insane family history of mental health.
Karalynne Call (1:27)
Oh, really?
Sean Kelly (1:28)
Yeah. Lost both my father and grandfather. They took their own lives.
Karalynne Call (1:31)
Oh, wow. Okay. So that's why I started Just Ingredients, is because of my health story with mental health. Should I share that with you? You want to hear about that?
Sean Kelly (1:40)
I know it, but yeah, the audience would love to hear it.

So about, man, about 19 years ago now, I used to say like 15 years ago, but now it's about 19 years ago, I was dealing with depression, and I had three little boys at the time, and I had never dealt with depression before. And so I was like, man, what is this? Why am I dealing with this? And I knew the body could heal itself, meaning like if you cut your finger, it heals itself. You break a bone with the right tools, it will heal itself. And so I kept thinking, I haven't always been like this, so there must be some way to heal this. So I went to doctor after doctor, and no one had any way to heal. And granted, this was 19 years ago. Now we know way more about depression.
But every doctor would say to me, well, I can give you an antidepressant. And I would say, well, will that help me heal? And they were like, no, we don't know what helps you heal. And I just was so frustrated with that. And so after a couple of years of trying to find a doctor and getting no help from anybody, one day I just had had it. I was tired of being depressed. I was tired of not being myself. I was tired, like depression comes in lots of different forms. Everybody thinks it's just like, oh, you, depression is you can't get out of bed. No, that's sometimes, but there's other times that you just have to fake it. You go to work and you fake it. And there's times where just everything seems overwhelming or things are frustrating or you feel anger. And so there's lots of different emotions you feel with depression. And I had felt all of them. And I was tired of feeling this way. And everybody kept telling me like, you'll see the light at the end of the tunnel.
And I remember being in a rocking chair with one of my kids and I'm like, the tunnel is dark. There is no light anywhere. And because I lost hope in ever living a better life than this depression that had come over me, I actually one day just had had it and went and attempted suicide. And thankfully, by the grace of God, miracles happen and the attempt failed.
And at that point, I realized I had hit rock bottom, true rock bottom and that I needed help. And so again, I started going to doctors, doctor after doctor, and I was just so frustrated because no one could help me. And so at this point, obviously, I went on antidepressants because I had hit rock bottom of wanting to take my life. I was so done being here. And so when I antidepressants and I didn't love them because I felt seatbelted in my emotions, meaning I didn't feel that depression, but I also couldn't feel the joy. I could never laugh or never feel happiness. I just was neutral. And so I hated the antidepressants. So I had to find help. And so finally, after two years of looking for a doctor, I found a doctor who was like, yes, I can help you.
