Market moving insight and analysis. Join Jim Cramer, David Faber and me, Carl Quintanilla on the opening bell hour of CNBC Squawk on the Street.
Good Tuesday morning, welcome to Squawk on the Street. I'm Carl Quintanilla with Jim Cramer, David Faber here post night of the New York Stock Exchange. Jim's at Nvidia GTC in San Jose, ahead of his live interview with Jensen Huang coming up to the next hour. Meantime, oil maintaining a bit today. Brent's above 100, diesel fuel tops $5 a gallon for the first time in nearly four years. Got some reports of a tanker struck off the coast of Amman. Futures though still in the green as a two-day Fed meeting begins. Australia hikes a quarter point and some companies begin offering some wartime earnings guidance. Our roadmap begins with oil and the Middle East conflict, crude rising after yesterday's drop and as we said, diesel above $5 a gallon, first time since 22
David Faber (1:53)
Also ahead, we've got a massive forecast from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang. The company's projecting a trillion dollars in AI chip revenue, that is through the end of next year. He's gonna join Jim next hour. It's going to be a live interview with Mr. Huang. Plus, we're going to look back at Bob Iger's second tenure as Disney CEO. Josh, tomorrow is set to succeed him in the top job tomorrow.
Carl Quintanilla (2:19)
Let's begin with the markets following the S&P's best one-day performance since the beginning of February. Jim, people starting to talk about levels here. Maybe the 20-day just above 6,800.
Jim Cramer (2:32)
There is some good news in what happened this morning. And I think people have to recognize we are in a situation where oil was actually up this morning and the futures were flat and then oil ultimately went, I mean, amazingly, oil went down a little bit. I've not seen this combination futures then up. We are in maybe a better moment than we think, Carl.
David Faber (2:58)
What does that mean?
Jim Cramer (3:01)
Well, I mean, David, when oil goes up, we're supposed to go down.
David Faber (3:05)
Oh, I see.
Jim Cramer (3:06)
It's not happening.
David Faber (3:07)
Right. Why not?
Jim Cramer (3:10)
Well, that's like the trillion-dollar question. I mean, but it's positive.
Carl Quintanilla (3:18)
Yeah, there is some, I mean, AAA gas, average gas now, 379, but Yardeni was good. I thought instructive on Squawk this morning, saying that maybe, you know, investment's right, maybe we're not down 20 million barrels a day. Maybe it's something more like 10 to 14 There clearly is oil moving. It just happens to be through areas that Iran is essentially allowing. JP Morgan, with a report today that kind of frames Iran as almost a toll taker, Jim, and that is net positive for global supply.
Jim Cramer (3:50)
Right. I also think that we've got this great moment where Iran had said that it's going to go to $200 with what they're doing, and we haven't been able to get much above $100. You know, David, New World, okay, we go to $100, and the market doesn't go down anymore, and I think that's incredibly positive.
David Faber (4:14)
I can see that. And then, so what do we start talking about beyond the price of oil?
Jim Cramer (4:19)
Well, we start talking about Ed Bastion and the guidance that we got from Phil LeBeau. I mean, I can't believe the oil stocks are maybe peaking, and the airline stocks are going higher.
Carl Quintanilla (4:34)
Yeah, Delta is interesting, Jim. They do maintain their quarterly guidance of 50 to 90 cents. Revenue booking is up 25 year on year. Of course, they're lapping last spring, where markets and consumers were kind of jarred by Liberation Day. Although American, Jim, Q1 expenses are going to go up $400 million.
