Ana Kasparian (4:17)

Welcome to TYT, I'm your host, Ana Kasparian, with a jam-packed show ahead for you today. Of course, it's Solo Anna Hour. In the second hour, though, I will be interviewing a guest alongside Cenk Uygur, an interview that he is so passionate about being included in that he is literally gonna come on the show on a Wednesday. So if you are not familiar, it has to do with the story involving a Green Party Congressional candidate out of Wisconsin, who was arrested in a road rage incident, but what really got people concerned was the fact that he had confronted some Israeli, said F Israel. And because of that, the authorities had basically given him a hate crime enhancement in his charges. What happened with that hate crime enhancement? Well, there's a big update to that story. We're gonna do that interview with the congressional candidate in question. You do not want to miss it. In the bonus episode for our members, I will be interviewing Catherine Liu, who is a pretty big critic of some of the, I would say, more toxic elements of left-wing culture. And what I mean by that is weaponizing certain things, including trauma. So she has a book out about trauma and using trauma as a means to connect with people when in reality it ends up disenfranchising people or dividing movements. She's an incredible critic and I really appreciate her work. So definitely stick around for that if you're a member. If you're not, tyt.com/join to become one.

All right.

We didn't get into a lot of foreign policy on yesterday's show. We did a lot of interviews and I gotta be honest, I had the female equivalent of blue balls. So you're in for it today. You are in for it today. So let's get into it.

SPEAKER_3 (6:08)

We're going to do a number on Iran but declined to go into detail about what that means. He also spoke about the Strait of Hormuz and the ongoing US Naval Blockade.

SPEAKER_4 (6:17)

The Straits have been opened. We've been taking more oil out of the Straits now than we did before the war started, believe it or not.

We control the Straits.

SPEAKER_3 (6:27)

Reuters reports that Iran is using new tactics to target vessels in the Strait. The IRGC is reportedly using unarmed spotters to increase the accuracy of their attacks. In recent days, multiple vessels have been targeted while transiting this critical waterway. Just in the past 20 minutes, two additional reports of vessels being targeted in the Strait of Hormuz. And it raises the stakes here because while the president says the Strait is open and the United States military is still escorting millions of barrels of crude oil out of the Persian Gulf each day. The IRGC is not stopping with their attacks against these commercial vessels.

Ana Kasparian (7:01)

Oops, looks like the president was lying. Yeah, the Strait is open. We totally control the Strait. We obliterated the Iran. Yeah, did you though? But did you? I don't think you did. I don't think you did. Because it looks like Iran, the IRGC, has not only started targeting more vessels traveling through the Strait of Hormuz. It appears that they are specifically targeting more and more of them. And of the vessels that are allowed to transit through the Strait, it appears that they are making a deal with the Iranians. Meaning, even though we have that real strict economic blockade on Iran, there are members of the international community that are like, F this, we're going to hit up the Iranians, we're going to make a deal. Or you guys want us to pay a toll, we'll pay the toll, we just got to get the oil out.

Now I would venture to say that that is the adult way of handling the situation.

The way that Trump has handled it is by engaging in magical thinking about how the strait is open, there's nothing to worry about. But as you saw in the video that we showed you earlier, there have been quite a few strikes on vessels transiting through the Strait of Hormuz, at least 24 that we know of. And of course by the time this is published on YouTube or any other platform, it's very likely that we're going to see a higher number.

Now again, that includes six vessels that were struck by the Iranians on a single day, and that was on October 11th. But the truth does really nothing to lessen the lewdacy of Trump's magical thinking. Take a look.
