Nick (0:04)

I had one of those nostalgic sort of moments yesterday.

Susie O'Neill (0:08)

Oh yeah?

Nick (0:08)

I didn't even know these things still existed, but I think it was the best sound you can hear in the world.

Susie O'Neill (0:13)

Okay.

Nick (0:14)

Now, I couldn't get the exact sound of the specific truck, the Australian version, so I've got the generic one, but I was at home and there's a park near my house.

Susie O'Neill (0:23)

Okay.

Nick (0:24)

And I hear, from the echo of the park, the ice cream van. This one's more of the home ice cream. It's like ding ding, ding ding. And I literally took my daughter and got up and we walked around to the park, and there it was, the home ice cream van going around all in front of all the houses, ringing the bell in order to get people to come out and give ice cream.

I don't know they still did that.

Susie O'Neill (0:48)

Either did I, because that the sound, green sleeves, I think that's called, is the old fashioned ice cream van that used to come around our street more a little. And same when you heard it, you would run outside and you get a, it was a soft serve dipped in chocolate for me.

Nick (1:02)

And then sprinkles on it, hundreds and thousands of them.

Susie O'Neill (1:03)

It's so cool, you run out always in your togs for some reason, because it's always summer and you're like hot and burny, didn't have no sunscreen on.

Luttsy (1:09)

They used to have the sherbet, they'd dip it in sherbet.

Susie O'Neill (1:11)

Yes. The pink sherbet.

Nick (1:14)

It got me thinking on 13, 24, 10

What do you think the best sound in the world is? Because as soon as I heard that, I was taken back to being a kid. I got so excited I took my child with me just to see, I wouldn't even get an ice cream, but I just wanted to see the truck.

Susie O'Neill (1:26)

Yeah, to find it. When you were talking about this in the meeting, Which meeting?

SPEAKER_4 (1:32)

You weren't at it.

Susie O'Neill (1:33)

I think of a sound as well that, have you got it there? I'm not sure. Don't play yet, but that reminds me of the same.

Nick (1:39)

Starter's gun? That would give you anxiety.

Luttsy (1:42)

How do you feel when you're a starter's gun?

Susie O'Neill (1:44)

Nervous. Now, this one reminds me of being a kid as well, and growing up, and just fun, and it's sporty, this sound.

You'll like it as well, Luttsy.

SPEAKER_6 (1:52)

You got it already? Yeah.

Luttsy (1:54)

Oh yeah, there you go. Widewater Sports. Well, actually, it reminds me in equal parts of Widewater Sports and Shaw 9, but also Billy Birmingham doing his comedic albums.

SPEAKER_6 (2:05)

He used to do around Richie Beno and all of them.

Susie O'Neill (2:09)

Yeah, true.

Nick (2:10)

That is a great sound, though.

Summer, holidays, five days, Korean morning, he's bowling. Oh yeah.

Susie O'Neill (2:16)

Totally.

Luttsy (2:17)

That's a great one.

Nick (2:18)

Yeah, that's good. So 13, 24, 10, favorite sound, best sounds. It doesn't need to be nostalgic. It can just be a sound that you like. Can be anything you want.

Kaz, out of Red Hill, what have you got for us, Kaz?

Kaz (2:29)

Hello. Hey, I just wanted to make a comment about the ice cream truck thing if I can.

Nick (2:34)

Oh, okay.

Kaz (2:36)

So we had our school fair the other day, and we had one of those pink and white old-fashioned trucks that came along and served the soft serve to everyone.

SPEAKER_6 (2:46)

Yeah.

Kaz (2:47)

And I paid $9 for a soft serve, a soft serve with, it was called a hedgehog, soft serve with chocolate dipped in chocolate with nuts in a almost like paper ice cream cone, not even a waffle cone.

SPEAKER_6 (3:03)

Oh yeah, just those old ones.

Kaz (3:04)

So that was horrific, but I just went, oh, what the hell? It's a piece of nostalgia. And yeah, the favorite sound that I have is my dog snoring because she's like 13 and she just like snores so heavily that it makes me feel better, I'm a snorer.

Nick (3:20)

I do love my dog snores as well. There's something really nice and comforting about it. They're so relaxed, they're passed out.

Kaz (3:26)

That's so weird.

Nick (3:27)

You would have gone and cuddle them, don't you, Kaz?

Kaz (3:29)

Yeah, and she also dribbles out the side of her mouth.
