Had a really awkward moment yesterday, guys.
As an animal owner, there is nothing more awkward than this moment. You guys don't own pets, obviously I know that, I'm aware. When you own a dog, and you take them for a walk, it's your responsibility obviously to bring poo bag, yes?
Susie O'Neill (0:20)
Well, the person in my street doesn't, because I counted five poos on my lawn yesterday.
David Lutteral (0:24)
Keep going.
Kelly (0:25)
Perfect.
David Lutteral (0:25)
And I've, you know, on occasion had pets as part of relationships. And yes, my understanding is definitely a poo bag.
Kip Wightman (0:33)
Thanks David. And that's what we've got time for.
Kelly (0:36)
Definitely a poo bag.
Kip Wightman (0:38)
Okay, so yes, right?
Susie O'Neill (0:39)
Take a poo bag, people.
Kip Wightman (0:40)
So what happened to me yesterday is I took one, but sometimes on the journey, your dog will double poop. And then you only take one, which can be a rookie mistake.
David Lutteral (0:49)
We had an apparatus.
Kip Wightman (0:52)
Keep going. So I only had the one. So pick up one, all is good.
Then they do another one, and you don't have anything to pick up with.
Susie O'Neill (1:00)
Just open up the original and put it in that one. Why can't you do that?
Kip Wightman (1:03)
Because you pick it up with your hand and then you tie it up.
Then you throw it in the bin, or you're going to untie it and grab the... So you're faced with a few options, right Sus? The option number one is if there's someone else around with the dog, you ask them for a spare.
Susie O'Neill (1:17)
Is that okay?
Kip Wightman (1:18)
That's okay, but there was no one in this instance that had spares. Then you're faced with... The other one is option two, just walk away, straight up.
Susie O'Neill (1:27)
If no one's looking?
Kip Wightman (1:28)
Don't do anything. Or my favourite, go down and pretend to pick it up, wait for a clear coast and then bail.
Or the last one, I was talking to Producer Ash about this one. She seems to do this, which I find the strangest. Use another object to pick it up.
Susie O'Neill (1:44)
And then put it where?
Kip Wightman (1:45)
I presume in the bin, but Producer Ash...
David Lutteral (1:47)
Just in the bushes.
Kip Wightman (1:49)
So what did you do?
Ash Bradnam (1:50)
I had to use a large leaf to scoop up five individual poops, then I put it near my car, then I waited a bit, and then I actually had to put it in the boot and take it home. Because there was no way to put it.
Kelly (2:05)
There were people watching.
Susie O'Neill (2:07)
Just leave it in the gutter.
Ash Bradnam (2:09)
I felt bad.
Kip Wightman (2:10)
There's nothing more, like, because I hate people who don't pick up their own dogs. It rarely happens because I bring bags. But when you...
Susie O'Neill (2:16)
It happens all the time.
Ash Bradnam (2:17)
For you?
Kip Wightman (2:17)
For me, I mean, yeah.
Susie O'Neill (2:18)
Oh, sorry. Yes.
David Lutteral (2:19)
In your street, it happens a bit.
Susie O'Neill (2:21)
I'm so angry now that I can't concentrate on your story.
Kip Wightman (2:24)
Because you're thinking of stray dog...
Susie O'Neill (2:25)
I'm thinking about how for years now...
David Lutteral (2:27)
It's always on your lawn too, isn't it?
Susie O'Neill (2:29)
It's always on our lawn.
Kip Wightman (2:30)
They have favorite lawns they go to.
Susie O'Neill (2:32)
Well, it's ours.
And I don't know who it is. It's someone in our street. And I'm really angry. So back to your story.
Kip Wightman (2:37)
Well, no, I'm just saying I was then faced with that horrible decision because it usually happens on people's lawns. And so I opted for... I didn't opt for Ashes pick it up with the leaf and leave it in my boot. That's just seems a bit... I opted for the old, you put your hands in your pocket and where is it gone? And then you bend down and you pretend to do something. And then you wait for the coast is clear and you just walk away.
But the whole afternoon, I felt like I had done something super illegal. Like I felt so guilty about it.
Susie O'Neill (3:02)
Yeah.
Kip Wightman (3:03)
It's the worst feeling.
Susie O'Neill (3:05)
Some people, yeah. But they don't know it's you. What address was it?
Kelly (3:10)
What do you mean? What house was it? Where was it?
