Welcome to the Podcast That Rocks weekly podcast that talks about news in the world of rock metal alternative and everything in between. My name is Luke.
**Alex** (0:13)
My name is Alex.
**Luke** (0:14)
Thank you all so much for joining in. If you notice any audio differences, I got a new microphone. Just pretend it's the same. If you think it's better, awesome. If you think it's worse, no, you don't.
**Alex** (0:26)
Either way, comment and let us know.
**Luke** (0:27)
Comment and let us know for sure, by the way. I did not have time to properly troubleshoot everything, because I got it, it was delayed a day, and I got it this afternoon. So my time to play with a new toy was a little bit cut short, but that's okay. That's not why you're here. You're here for all the wild world of things that we often talk about, and all of them are going to be extremely positive.
We got news today that sucks. We're going to get into that as well. But okay, do I sound louder? Well, good. That was the points.
**Alex** (1:00)
Okay. Sounds good.
**Luke** (1:01)
Okay. Also, I saw in the chat earlier, Steve's, this is not the PeeCast or The Podcast That Pooed. Please stop putting that on us. We're reporting the news and this does affect us.
Unfortunately, it does.
**Alex** (1:18)
It's not our fault. It just keeps happening.
**Luke** (1:19)
Yes. That is 100% accurate. Alex said it right. Not our fault, but it does keep happening. We need to call it out. We'll get to the poo and pee later, okay? Just hold your bladder. We'll get to it. We'll get to that rest stop.
That was my way of testing that out. My way of kind of syncing that up to a nice saying.
Thank you to all the Steves in the chat. Thank you so much for joining us live on this Wednesday evening or whatever time of day it is. 50 likes, at least one round of Festival Rocker Flop. Last week was wild, but boy, it did work out mostly. Like we barely crossed the finish line each time almost. Also last week was the first time I really felt, both with Alex and everyone in chat, like kind of like at the edge of their secret, like, oh, please don't let it be bad. Please, please, please.
**Alex** (2:13)
The anticipation is half the fun.
**Luke** (2:14)
It was, and like whatever it was last week, it was rough. So thank you all so much. Hope you're all doing well. I think that's about it. Is there anything you'd like to add, Alex, before we get into the news of the week?
**Alex** (2:30)
I don't think so.
**Luke** (2:31)
OK, let's go here. Let me share my screen with you.
Whabam. Entire screen. Where'd you go?
**Alex** (2:41)
I miss you, so.
**Luke** (2:42)
Whabam.
There we are, everyone. We found out a few days ago that apparently Sid Wilson, turntable, keyboardist, all around hype man and dancer extraordinaire is no longer in Slipknot after 29 years.
**Alex** (3:05)
Sheesh, that's a long time. Yee-yep.
**Luke** (3:10)
So before we get into all the beats that we do know and all the information, I'll say this right off the bat. He was an iconic part of Slipknot. Whether you like him or not, he was a key focal point of Slipknot for a long time. So we found out the news. It was very brief. It was reported by none other. Oh, wait, hang on. It was reported by none other than TMZ that Sid Wilson was removed from the band. Now, you and I and everyone listening all know TMZ, why do we care what they think? They are terrible people.
First, a lot of things, though, that have factual cause and effects, they actually can be accurate, even though their methods are very skeezy, to say the least.
**Alex** (3:54)
Yeah, that's fair.
**Luke** (3:54)
Okay, so at first we had very little notes. It was Jim Root and Mick Thompson's wife both in separate posts on Instagram saying, hey, don't believe everything you read. It could be rumors, you know, don't read too much into it yet. Okay. Fair statements.
The first response, though, from Sid Wilson, did you, Alex, did you see what the first response was from Sid? After all this news broke.
**Alex** (4:22)
Tell me.
**Luke** (4:23)
Tell you? I'll show you an Instagram post where he started showing off his merch shop on his websites.
**Alex** (4:32)
How interesting.
**Luke** (4:34)
Nothing says I'm out of the band, like trying to make money off my merch and arts. Okay.
