All right. We're gonna take Bijan here. I want to get your thoughts on the air from the Bananas listeners deserve to know. They're gonna all wind up buying this book and reading it. You've been wanting to write a novel for years. We've talked about this. I've been encouraging you to take the time when you need it.
You've been grinding. The writing's been going good. You've been doing awesome work. And so we've been not recording. I mean, that's pretty much the reason why. How are you doing? I'm gonna interview all about this novel instead of talking about fancy football. How's it going? How far are you? What is it like? What percent are we done here? What are we talking about?

Yeah, I wouldn't go that far. I'm sure the listeners are like, why did you guys pass on Josh Allen? Not this. But no, it's been awesome. It's been a lot of fun the last couple of weeks. I've kind of texted you Wednesday night and I'm like, you know, I'm up all night. I'm up early in the morning.
I can't lose the momentum. I know you're doing projections. And you've been kind enough to be like, yeah, I'm doing projections. Probably is fine for me too. So giving me that excuse there. And yeah, it's gone really well. I think folks also know that the starve yourself plan, intermittent fasting, what have you, is the only effective way to lose a lot of weight, which we're also trying to do. Then having something to throw your mind into is pretty valuable. So yeah, it's been going great. Exercising, writing, not eating, energy level is up, sleep is down.
And I have some pretty cool stuff ready to come out on RotoViz as well. But one of the reasons why we're recording today is I'm about to take a trip kind of tracking the route that the characters in the novel are going to take. It's a bit of a apocalypse happening, etc., etc.,
trying to escape certain areas of it. And I'm going to drive that over the next three or four days, go through some state parks, take a trip up here from Kansas City through Iowa City up to Madison, Wisconsin, maybe even to Green Bay. So Colum Kelly won't be there. He is a massive Packers fan but does live in Ireland. But I assume all these other Packers fans there.
Yeah, that's the plan. It's been very exciting.

That's incredibly exciting. I can't wait to read this. So you're doing background research on some of the locations and stuff, it sounds like.

Yeah. Hopefully, we'll be able to write with more detail, more granularity. Writing about setting is maybe not the most fun thing. But you think about whatever your type of story is, whatever books you read, whether it's crime fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, literary fiction, romance, whatever it is, if the author can take you to the spot and have you not notice that you're there. You can just read the story, their own prose doesn't jump out and sidetrack you, constantly knock you out of what you're wanting, which is the story, then the book is much more successful.
That's why we're always trying to be able to write in a way that the reader doesn't notice.
