SPEAKER_1 (0:01)

Welcome to the Teaching Ministry of Jubilee Church International. Jubilee is devoted to making disciples, winning the loss to Christ, building strong families, and taking the gospel to the nations.

Open your Bibles and join us as the presence of the Holy Spirit helps us to grow a little deeper.

SPEAKER_2 (0:29)

Amen, if you will open your Bibles to the Book of 2 Timothy chapter 2

SPEAKER_3 (0:41)

In our home group, we have gone most recently through 1 Timothy, and now we are finishing up 2 Timothy, and our next home group will finish up 2 Timothy for this year.

SPEAKER_4 (1:02)

And, you know, I prepare for home group, and I go through the chapter that we are going to cover, and I let the Holy Spirit lead me, and I do some studying and digging, so that I have something to share and impart and teach.

SPEAKER_5 (1:21)

Amen, because home group is part of our discipleship.

SPEAKER_3 (1:27)

And this past Wednesday was not normal for me, because man, the Holy Spirit began to convict me after our home group.

SPEAKER_5 (1:45)

And I'm going to share that with you, because last Sunday, didn't I talk about conviction and the Holy Spirit and all that? Man, you better watch what you preach.

SPEAKER_6 (1:58)

God might just call you out on it.

SPEAKER_5 (2:01)

Anybody ever been called out by the Holy Spirit?

SPEAKER_7 (2:05)

Any man ever been called out by your wife?

SPEAKER_4 (2:13)

I've had both, amen.

SPEAKER_5 (2:18)

2 Timothy chapter 2, starting with verse 24

Now, this past week, man, normally in my prayer and different things and go through the week, man, the Holy Spirit would just begin to give me direction. But man, this week, I had, I wanted to go a whole other direction than I'm going this morning, but the Holy Spirit would not let me.

SPEAKER_3 (2:45)

So it might be a little different this morning than a normal message you might hear from me.

SPEAKER_5 (2:52)

Second Timothy chapter 2, sorry, verse 24, and the Lord's servant. That's me. Is that you?

Because you can't, you're not the Lord's servant if you're not surrender to the Lord. Come on, say this with me. The Lord's servant must live surrendered.

SPEAKER_2 (3:17)

You gotta live surrendered.

SPEAKER_5 (3:19)

And sometimes surrender looks like the Holy Spirit correcting you.

Come on. To get you back on the path, to get you back in the way of the Lord, when your mind or your attitude is taking you a little astray.

SPEAKER_9 (3:41)

Amen?

SPEAKER_7 (3:45)

2nd Timothy 2, 24

SPEAKER_6 (3:47)

And the Lord's servant must, must, that implies that I have options, right?

SPEAKER_5 (3:56)

I have a choice. No, it says the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome.

SPEAKER_10 (4:06)

Oh, did y'all feel that?

SPEAKER_11 (4:08)

Anybody get hit right between the eyes, right there. Rub your forehead right there.

SPEAKER_1 (4:12)

Mm, mm.

SPEAKER_9 (4:15)

Must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to who?

SPEAKER_5 (4:22)

Anybody need to do a Hebrew word study, figure out what everyone means?

Because if I dig down into the Hebrew of everyone, maybe I can find a loophole. Oh, there were some did in Jesus' day, weren't they?

SPEAKER_9 (4:40)

Able to teach patiently enduring evil.

SPEAKER_6 (4:49)

What does that mean?

SPEAKER_2 (4:52)

It means even in the days of darkness that we live in, we trust the Lord.

SPEAKER_4 (5:02)

That we respond patiently.

SPEAKER_5 (5:06)

Correcting doesn't mean we don't confront darkness. It doesn't mean we don't speak out against that which is evil.

SPEAKER_2 (5:15)

We do it with the patience of the Spirit of the Living God.

SPEAKER_5 (5:21)

It's a reflection of our attitude.

SPEAKER_9 (5:25)

We're in our attitude.

SPEAKER_5 (5:28)

See, because you've heard me say sin will always manifest in an attitude, but so will righteousness.

God may perhaps, listen, correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance, leading to the knowledge of the truth.

SPEAKER_11 (5:51)

And that they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil after being captured by him to do his will.

SPEAKER_5 (6:04)

Because if you come confronting them, getting in their face, yelling, screaming, snotting and getting in an attitude because you were slighted or something was unjust against you or something rubbed you the one way, or you just don't like that kind of people, and you are not going to lead them to repentance.

SPEAKER_6 (6:27)

Go read Proverbs.

SPEAKER_9 (6:30)

It says, a gentle word turns away wrath.

SPEAKER_5 (6:38)

But if you just use harsh words, angry words, words of the flesh, you don't turn down the flame, you stir it up. Flames of wrath and anger.
