Happy Friday, everyone. Hope you had a good week. I'm feeling much better after a whole month of shows. One thing Mel and I didn't get into, however, was Tuesday. I did go to the fake Telfar show. He did a show on Tuesday afternoon at Williamsburg Bank Building in Fort Greene that was streamed to those of us sitting in a theater in Paris. Although we were told that we were going to see him showing in Paris. I guess it was some sort of stunt.

It's fine. Do your stunt. I, it's okay.

I enjoyed the video. I would just say that at the end of the show, they should have had some clothes. The whole point of having us go was, honestly, I don't know. I think they did themselves a disservice by there not being any actual clothes there. Why? Because it wasn't like it didn't cost any money to stage this thing in this theater. But anyway, I wish they had done more and also communicated something beforehand. I guess if they had told me there's not actually going to be a runway show, it's just a video, I might have knocked on. So I understand. The whole point was for the audience to be like, oh, they're actually not doing one. So anyway, it is what it is. I also wanted to briefly touch on Louis Vuitton, which a lot of people were talking about way more than usual. I was not at the show. I've been to many Nicola Jascar Louis Vuitton shows but not this one. But I did see a bunch of people who went directly after the show. We went to a Hunger Games themed dinner, which honestly, I'm never going to write about this dinner or talk about this dinner. You can look on style.com. Becca did a very nice write-up about it.

But it was kind of appropriate because Louis Vuitton, people say working at Louis Vuitton is like the Hunger Games. So it was funny. But I looked very closely at the photos of Louis Vuitton because a lot of people were like, this was a good show. It was interesting. Nicola Jascar, the last few years, has done really, really out there shows that have been not in touch with reality, and he's gotten a lot of flack for it. Although they're editorial, it's hard to say. There's no connection to real life in any way. This show was very much about real life. There were a lot of throwbacks that looked like, very much like Marc Jacobs' first collections for Vuitton in the late 90s. There's some nice dresses and things, and it was that idea of Nicola super futuristic, but what he did so well in the early days of Vuitton, or the early days of, or Balenciaga the whole time. But I think the difference was he was just so, he was so directional then, and it was just, he was really defining the conversation in his first years of Vuitton, the silhouette, the little mini skirt, all that stuff, defining the fashion conversation. I don't think he's doing that now, and I don't think, he doesn't even think that generally, like some nice dresses, some nice bags. A lot of people that I talked to went to the show were like, eh, I was deflated. It was like, who, what is he thinking? I did think like some of the looks at the end, like some of the jackets looked very Chanel-y, and I was like, why is that happening? I don't, I don't know. But generally, like, this guy is a legend. He got the legend of honor or whatever, like a big honor that the French cultural council bestows upon people who are important to impacting global culture and especially French culture. And he obviously has. I thought he looked great in his Phoebe Philo track jacket that he wore for like the press shoot around the show. It made me want the jacket. But yeah, I don't know. I mean, this guy is two more years on his contract or a year and a half or whatever.
