Good morning, what's up, everybody? Welcome to the party, dealing with a little Windows operating system issues. Here we go, look at this. All right, the idea that Windows resizing is, trust us, we know what you want. Doesn't always work out when you're trying to produce a podcast here. What's up, everybody? Welcome to the party. Today is September 16th, it's Wednesday. Got a sore throat, but my energy levels are pegging out, and I'm feeling good, I hope you are too. Welcome to Simply Cyber's Daily Cyber Threat Brief Podcast. I'm your host, two thumbs, all smiles, Dr. Gerald Auger. Coming to you live from the Buffer Auger Flow Studio here in the Lowcountry. Super pumped today, got a full belly of hot coffee and a cup full of lemon tea from Mrs. Auger. So I am ready to dial it in and deliver the hot top cyber news stories of the day to you. So stay tuned, you're locked in. Let's go.
All right. What's up, everybody? Hope everyone's doing well. For those who are regulars, I've been recovering from an illness, whatever. I was banged up on Monday, feeling better Tuesday, doing all right today. My son asked me every morning, dad, how are you feeling today? How'd you sleep? And the answer is always better than last night. Which is true, it doesn't mean I'm feeling great, but it does mean I'm feeling better than last night.
All right. If you are having so many, well, here's the thing I was going to say, if you're having issues, Code Bruce pointed it out. When I go live, if you're sitting on the page, sometimes it doesn't load. I can't, the problem is if I'm telling you to reload, that you're not hearing it because you're sitting there staring at a blank page right now. But hopefully, hopefully you're here with us right now. Good morning to the Simply Cyber community, Rhonda Romerfield, Hazel Meir, Ad Tech, Christopher Lycia, Steven Mount, my man, Ad Tech and Devin Grady, Tom Lavin up in Buffalo. Good to see you all. Guys, over the next hour, we're gonna go through the top eight stories of the day, give you the headline and the surface level story of course, like you would get in any other cybersecurity news show. What makes us different, what makes us special is threefold. One, we go way beyond the headlines, give you additional insights and value that you just won't get anywhere else based on my 20 years of experience. So what is it? It's like, what does this actually mean? Or when I look at this as a CISO, like is this really an issue or not? Right? Like if you don't have context of the story, it's difficult to ascertain. Do I need to switch into my brown pants for the rest of the day? Or is this something I can just punt to next week? That's the value we go. Additionally, value two, we are joined by the Simply Cyber community, a massive community of like-minded, supportive professionals who are all about inclusion, empowerment, and making sure that every one of us is kicking as much butt as possible. And three, it's just a good routine to get into, builds professional networks, gets good habits going, and it's all about good time. So if that's what you're into, what's up? Good to see you. Now, bite the hand. Hello, good to see you. Now, as always, you're probably well aware of this format, because you're a regular here, we always want to let our new people, our first timers, know how it goes. So if you are here for the first time, Kia Ora, as my friend Bruce and Hacks likes to say, for the non-initiated, that means hello and welcome to the party, pal. Drop a hashtag first timer in chat. If you are here for the first time, you just throw up your phone, dee dee dee dee dee dee dee. Now, if you're listening to us on your TV, in your kitchenette while the bagels are toasting, I get it. You can just yell at the TV, hashtag first timer. And you know what? We'll just pretend that somewhere, somewhere in like Midland America, there's somebody with their kids who are eating scrambled eggs right now, screaming first timer, scaring their children at the TV. For you, welcome to the party. It's great to have you here, of course. And kiddos, your parents are cool. All right. All right. Hey, listen, also every single day of the week has a special segment. Wednesdays is way back Wednesday. We kick it old school. It's kind of some old tech, some old something from the 80s, 90s, 2000s that was cool at the time and it's ridiculous that we consider it now with all the advancements. So that's always a fun little segment and a way to break up the mid roll.
