It's September 17th, welcome in. This is Washington Nationals News Today, where your team meets AI. I'm Corey with the story.

Seaver King, a short stop drafted by the Nationals in 2024, is having a breakout year. He just hit his 20th home run of the season, a career high, and he's only 23 years old. This past Wednesday, he had a two hit, two RBI game that helped his team, AAA Rochester, win big. His home run was a monster shot, going 411 feet to center field.

It put his team up by one run and they never looked back. He's been on a hot streak lately with multiple hits in four of his last six games.

Last year, King struggled a bit, especially with hitting the ball in the air and chasing pitches outside the strike zone. He only managed six home runs in over 100 games. But after a good showing in the Arizona Fall League, he's clearly made some adjustments. Now, he's lifting the ball more, showing off his power and playing a strong defensive position. He's also a threat on the bases with his speed, stealing 15 bags this season, even after missing some time with an injury. King is considered the Nationals' number four prospect and is knocking on the door of the majors. He was even named the Nationals Minor League Hitter of the Year for his impressive performance.
