So, we're finally getting to the point where we're actually going to see perhaps revenge taken against Ben Crump, the online idiots that have been trying to smear the reputations, the names, just the reputations of these kids that were friends with Nolan Wells, who went out to Horns Island with Nolan Wells, and now they find themselves targets of harassment, of online harassment, real harassment, threats towards them and their family and their friends, and anyone associated with them because Ben Crump and the Nolan Wells family, mother and father, have gone on a marketing circus campaign, a Gibson Go Go Fund Me campaign, raising money for a crime that has never at all been proven, given any real evidence or credence. They're doing it off of speculation and harming people while they're doing it. Young kids who went out boating and partying with Nolan Wells.
And maybe there is some shocking evidence that at some point will be revealed that says, no, this was a cold-blooded murder. It wasn't just another kid on a boat with alcohol and with partying who drown. This happens every spring and summer across America.
No, this isn't that. This is some sort of amazing who done it, amazing racial crime. It's Mississippi Burning 2.0. It's Emmett Till 2.0. And finally, the chickens, I believe, are going to come home to roost because these kids and their parents have had it and are taking actions and taking steps to make Ben Crump and the other co-conspirators pay a price. Sarah Fields, one of the best journalists, one of the most independent journalists we have in America. She operates mostly from Texas, but she was big on the Karmelo Anthony case. She's been big and amazing as it relates to this incident in Mississippi. She's joining us today, agreed to an interview, and she wants to release a major update in this case as it relates to the kids and the people being smeared. Sarah Fields, welcome back to Fearless. Thank you so much for taking the time. Sarah, where do we want to start? Do we want to start with the major announcement, update, and then get into questions, or you want me to lob you some questions, and then get to the major announcement?

Let's wait a little bit on the major announcement, because I think one of the best things to do is to start off with a timeline of what actually happened that day that's been provided to me, because as you know, I'm in direct communication with the attorneys and the families, and they want to make sure that the truth is heard. What's really sad about this is that this is a tragedy, but it is being made into a much worse tragedy by turning it into an all-out witch hunt on these boys who had, according to them, had nothing to do with what happened to Nolan, and the evidence points to them being completely innocent.
So this has turned into a witch hunt on Nolan's friends. It's really heartbreaking to watch it happen, and so my entire job on this entire case has literally just been combating all of the misinformation that's been put out onto social media so far. So what I'd really like to start with is a timeline.

We can start there. We can start there. Let me add this little touch, because what you just described sounds very similar to the work you did on the Karmelo Anthony case. There's this these flood of lies, and you just spent all day debunking them, and these cases have similar narratives in that regard.

**Sarah Fields** (4:43)
They do. It's actually really heartbreaking. I've referred to it as Karmelo Anthony 2.0. The only difference is that with Karmelo Anthony case, there was an actual murderer.
What's really sad is that I'm watching the same pattern with the same exact activists involved with this case. So it's the same exact people who targeted the witnesses who saw the murder of Austin Metcalf. And they're the same ones who targeted these witnesses, doxed these witnesses, tried to smear them and make up a bunch of lies, and tried to say that Karmelo was bullied, and there was a fight, and he was beaten. And they targeted these witnesses relentlessly. And then in turn, of course, as you know, they targeted me for reporting the truth. And there was race baiters such as Dominique Alexander and multiple other people that I'm actually in the process of civilly suing, suing in civil court now.
So yes, but when this case, when this happened after July 4th, I saw the same exact people who were involved in the Karmelo Anthony case, the same exact race baiters and activists and social media commentators, whatever you want to call it, bad actors on social media, now go after the friends of Nolan Wells. And it's really heartbreaking to watch. It's really sad. And it's a pattern. It's the same thing. The only difference also besides the fact that Karmelo Anthony has been convicted of murder is that Ben Crump is involved in this case. He wouldn't touch Karmelo Anthony's case.
