Cenk Uygur (0:12)

Well, I'm The Young Turks, Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian with you guys.

You're gonna be shocked to find out there's a lot of news. So civil war in Israel? Wait, what? CIA has a report on it. We're gonna share that with you guys in a little bit.

Ana Kasparian (0:26)

I will allow it.

Cenk Uygur (0:27)

Yeah.

Iran has a new force to deal with, and that is the so-called Mecca Pact. What is that? Why is Turkey now aligned against Iran? That doesn't seem to make much sense, but here we are in Pakistan. We'll get into that a little bit later. And then if you like my rage, if you don't, don't worry, I'll catch you in the second hour. Okay, if you do, I'm going to rage about MS Now's attempt to put a hatchet in Abdul El-Sayed's back. I mean, ham-handed Zionists, obviously trying to destroy a Democratic candidate. They're so freaking obvious about it, and I'll tell you the super dirty trick they did that an average viewer wouldn't have picked up, but you guys will see it instantly the minute I explain it to you. Okay, so now having said that, we're going to get started with Trump maybe taking out, but not minding Iran taking out some of our cities. So let's watch.

Donald Trump (1:31)

We are saving this country from a problem, and the Middle East, and Israel, and everybody. We're saving the world from what could be one of the worst tragedies ever. We're not going to let them have it, and they won't have this. That's decided. They will not have a nuclear weapon. They understand.

SPEAKER_4 (1:49)

They understand.

Donald Trump (1:51)

Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay, and it's gonna be over with very soon. It's essentially almost over with.

Cenk Uygur (2:03)

Yeah, I've got a lot of thoughts on that. Later, I will tell you guys what the reaction would have been if Obama said, hey, you know what? Let them take out Alabama or Mississippi. That'd be so funny. I'm sure that, of course, it would have had the same reaction.

And I thought we'd already destroyed their nuclear facilities, but Ana's gonna clear all of this up for us.

Ana Kasparian (2:22)

Let me just begin by noting that lots of our service members happen to live in San Diego.

We've got bases and a lot of military installations in San Diego, but who cares, right? Who cares? It's a blue city or a blue state. And so let Iran take them out. Anyway, that's the President of the United States, joking around about Americans being killed by a foreign country. But to be fair, the government of the United States is perfectly happy to watch Americans get killed by a foreign country in the West Bank. But let's get to the details on what Trump had to say. So he made these comments during a rally in Nebraska ahead of the midterms next month. And if you're wondering, well, what was the full context? Maybe we're not getting it here, maybe you're being unfair. Well, let's hear more of what Trump had to say. Let's hear those statements in context and see if we got it right.

Donald Trump (3:17)

I want to see a tremendous victory. You want to see a tremendous victory because it verifies all the things we did. And again, remember, with the war, it's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They can take out a city.

Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay. And it's gonna be over with very soon. It's essentially almost over with.

Ana Kasparian (3:46)

Well, let me just say, had Trump or let's say a Democratic president, it's hard to imagine this happening, but a Democratic president saying something like, let them take out a red state, I'd be disgusted because guess what?

Whether you agree with the voters in any particular state or not doesn't matter. We're Americans and we should have each other's backs. The most depressing part about that, Cenk, wasn't that the president of the United States said what he said because I've come to expect this from Trump. There is no bottom when it comes to Donald Trump.

He doesn't care about Americans. He has proven that time and time again. He doesn't care about his own voters who he is happy to steal from. His own voters who he is happy to scam with his meme coin. This is who Trump is. But to see Americans cheer on the mass slaughter of their fellow Americans in San Diego and Los Angeles is just heartbreaking and disappointing.
