President Trump had a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Russia reports that the call was about recent visits by the US delegation to Moscow and the status of Russia's war with Ukraine. Russia says that Trump told Putin that an end to the conflict would open up prospects for the full restoration of relations between Russia and the United States.

It's The Drew Mariani Show on Relevant Radio. That was CBS News on the high stakes peace talks the US is now holding to bring the Russia-Ukraine war to an end. Good afternoon. I'm Drew Mariani. Great to be here with you today. Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your after afternoon. You know, for just a moment, there appears to be a glimmer of hope, right? Vladimir Putin ordered a temporary halt on these attacks on Kiev as American envoys arrived in Moscow trying to restart these negotiations.

The same time, simultaneously, he's warning Russians, be prepared for anything. Europe was confronting an expanding campaign of suspected Russian sabotage. The director of the CIA made that extraordinary trip to Moscow. Remember that? Reportedly, carrying a warning. This is what they think went down, where he told Putin not to test NATO. So what exactly is Putin doing? Is he looking for a way out of Ukraine, or is he testing how far he can push the West before, well, somebody pushes back? Those are the questions we're going to explore with Dr. Daniel Kempton coming up here in a moment. I want to thank you for, again, allowing me to be part of your afternoon. How many people have stumbled across the airwaves or got into a rental car and Relevant Radio is tuned, and their life has been changed? I've shared stories of people whose lives have literally been changed because of something they've heard or contemplating ending their own lives, but they heard something across that AM signal. So what we're asking you to do is just contact your representative and urge them to vote yes on the AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act. That's all you have to do. And I'll get the telephone number for the switchboard for you. It's pretty simple. But contact your representative, urge them to vote yes on the AM for Every Vehicle Act. That's all you have to do. If everybody would just take a minute and do that, you may preserve AM radio. Anyway, let's pray about it too. Hey, I want to get back to Russia here, and there's a lot of news to get to. It's been a while since I've been on the air with you. As you know, I've been away for a little bit here, so we want to get you caught up. I want to get you caught up on what's happening in the world. The Russia-Ukraine war, it's not going the way the Vladimir Putin expected it to. In fact, it hasn't been going that way since the start of the war, but it seems that maybe Putin, he's running out of patience.

Of course, the Ukraine is targeting all of his oil and energy supplies, and as a result of that, what are we seeing? We're seeing greater disenchantment amongst the people in Russia. And what does he do? He threatens over and over again, at least for the last four years, he's going to ratchet it up. If Kiev continues to do that, if Ukraine continues to do that, he'll use tactical nuclear weapons. Unfortunately, that's never been done. It's probably just a lot of saber rattling. But now it appears that the dictator wants to draw NATO into the war. Last week, he ordered a pause, as I was sharing with you, as Jared Kushner and Stephen Wyckoff, the Trump's envoys, were there to try to get some talks going. But he also told the Russian people, look, you gotta be prepared for anything. And I think he knows that Ukraine is escalating. So there's no end in sight right now.
