Josh Holmes (0:00)

Now, we've got a midterm convention.

Comfortably Smug (0:02)

Yeah, now is time to lock in.

Josh Holmes (0:03)

This is the brainchild of President Trump, a way to galvanize the Republicans in a way that they haven't been in the era of Trump for midterms.

John Ashbrook (0:13)

They've professionalized their operation to a level that will turn Trump voters out even higher in 2026 And this convention is part of that.

Josh Holmes (0:23)

Our politics has become so national and so consumption-heavy in that, like, I think this has an opportunity to do real good and refocus the Republican electorate, which is really what we're talking about here.

Comfortably Smug (0:39)

If we can turn this midterm into the environment of a presidential election, the Republican party is going to do well.

John Ashbrook (0:49)

Washington politicians are always getting in your wallet. Now they're messing with your credit card. Your credit card and the security it offers are under attack. The Durbin Marshall credit card bill would change the nation's payment system to benefit corporate megastores like Walmart and Target at the expense of everyday Americans.

Credit cards keep your payments secure and provide rewards that families use to help make everyday purchases more affordable. The Durbin Marshall mandates would let corporate megastores cut corners on credit card processing, routing transactions over cheaper, untested networks with weaker security and fewer protections. That means higher risk of fraud, greater chance of stolen personal data, and the loss of rewards programs, just so corporate megastores can pocket billions of dollars and higher profits. Tell Congress to Guard Your Card. Visit guardyourcard.com to take action and learn more.

Josh Holmes (2:27)

Welcome back to the Ruthless Sorority Program. I'm Josh Holmes, along with comfortably Smug, Michael Duncan and John Ashbrook. Left to right across the radio dial is absolutely always, we got a real burner going on here today. An incredible show.

Michael Duncan (2:41)

This is gonna be great.

Comfortably Smug (2:43)

It's gonna be great. It's gonna be a great week. You know, this feels like the real official kickoff of the midterms.

Josh Holmes (2:51)

I totally agree.

Comfortably Smug (2:52)

Yeah.

Josh Holmes (2:52)

You know, I mean, there's a tendency you threw up the summer, you kind of forget and everybody's doing their own thing. And then you get into that Labor Day period, and now we've got a midterm convention.

Comfortably Smug (3:02)

Yeah, now is time to lock in.

Josh Holmes (3:04)

Yeah.

So, I mean, we're gonna do a whole bunch of stuff on that. Also, we have the best interview.

Michael Duncan (3:11)

Huge deal. Huge deal.

Josh Holmes (3:13)

Anyone in media has.

And Dina Powell McCormick. She is the president of Meta. And I gotta tell you, she's also the most impressive person, I think, I know. You know, when...

John Ashbrook (3:28)

I will second that.

Josh Holmes (3:29)

Yeah, I mean, you get that question from time to time. Like, who's the most impressive, who's the most famous person in your cell phone? Or who's the whatever?

In terms of impressiveness of an individual, I think she might be it. Don't you guys? I mean, it's like everything she's touched, since I have become vaguely aware of Dina, is gold.

John Ashbrook (3:52)

She's a force of nature.

And she's got just such a great personality. You would never know, talking to her, that she has as much pool and swat and power and relationships. Yeah, totally. You would be like, well, okay, I'm sure people know her, but she knows everybody and she couldn't be easier to talk to or get along with.

Josh Holmes (4:14)

So a normal human being.

John Ashbrook (4:16)

Huge, huge.

Josh Holmes (4:17)

And you've heard us talk a lot about the data center controversy, AI.

You know our views of all of that. And so why not go to the Grand Dome, right? The person who knows and can speak about all of that better than anyone else in the country.
