Pow. What's up?
Bert Kreischer (0:09)
Brand new 4 Bears, 4 Bears, what the fuck?
Tom Segura (0:11)
4 Bears.
Bert Kreischer (0:12)
4 Bears, 2 Bears. Hey Tom, I ChatGPT-ed a bunch of my takes today, so they should be like not controversial.
Tom Segura (0:20)
Oh, cool.
Bert Kreischer (0:20)
Yeah.
Tom Segura (0:21)
Chat always says, what's up?
Bert Kreischer (0:23)
No, Chat really does, because I feel like every opinion I have is absolutely against the grain of the Internet.
Tom Segura (0:33)
Is it?
Bert Kreischer (0:35)
I feel like it maybe is just in my head. Dude, I am doing so much work in therapy right now, you have no fucking idea.
Tom Segura (0:42)
Are you really?
Bert Kreischer (0:42)
You have no idea. Like I am doing all the hard work. But let's get back to my bad takes.
Tom Segura (0:48)
Okay.
Bert Kreischer (0:49)
Have you seen The Pastor's Wife on Netflix?
Tom Segura (0:51)
I have not. Is that a doc?
Bert Kreischer (0:55)
It's a hit job is what it is, but yeah, it's a doc.
Tom Segura (0:58)
What is the, wait, what's the premise of it? Is it a crime thing?
Bert Kreischer (1:03)
I got fucking destroyed by my daughters and wife.
Tom Segura (1:09)
What did you get destroyed for?
Bert Kreischer (1:12)
So it's a documentary about a pastor who's overbearing, cheats, he's not a great guy, clearly. His wife.
Tom Segura (1:18)
But he's a man of the Lord.
Bert Kreischer (1:19)
He's a man of the Lord, but is questionable because he's been cheating and, you know, it's, I don't know, he's not the greatest guy in the world.
Tom Segura (1:26)
Okay.
Bert Kreischer (1:27)
Allegedly. I guess I'm just going off what I saw in this doc.
Tom Segura (1:30)
Sure.
Bert Kreischer (1:32)
His wife has a mental break, it's his second wife. He cheated on his first wife with this lady who was also married, they have an affair. She gets onto pills, not pills, onto meds because she has a mental break.
And then throughout the story, she kills herself at the very end. Spoiler alert. I guess you're supposed to say spoiler before you say it.
Tom Segura (1:51)
Before you talk about the thing.
Bert Kreischer (1:52)
She kills herself, spoiler alert.
Tom Segura (1:54)
Okay.
That would upset me if I were listening. And I was like, oh yeah, it's queued up for tonight. Okay. Really cool.
Bert Kreischer (2:10)
I just came in you, spoiler alert.
Tom Segura (2:12)
So spoiler alert, you're pregnant.
Bert Kreischer (2:14)
Spoiler alert, you're pregnant. So people use spoiler alert enough, I don't think.
Tom Segura (2:22)
Yeah. They usually they say that and then they talk about the thing.
Bert Kreischer (2:27)
Cops should do that and just go, spoiler alert, you're getting arrested.
Tom Segura (2:30)
Yeah.
Or you're under arrest. Spoiler alert. Yeah.
Bert Kreischer (2:37)
So they don't interview the dude. Now, it's just an interview of the girls' family. The girls got a tragic history and it's an interview.
Tom Segura (2:48)
This is the second wife?
Bert Kreischer (2:49)
This is the second wife. She's like, I think she's an islander or something. And so, I don't know, Tom, I barely paid attention.
Tom Segura (2:57)
Yeah, Brown, yeah.
Bert Kreischer (2:59)
Doesn't sunburn, good hair, good body. And so, the whole documentary is told from her perspective, from her family's perspective, about how this guy is responsible for her suicide. However, they just take excerpts of his sermons as in using him, that for his interview.
So it's really, without talking to him, it's almost like this is what triggered me, is like, I've seen them do it to Joe, I've seen them do it to you, I know they're doing it to me, but like when people do like content on us and just use clips from our podcast out of context.
Tom Segura (3:41)
Yeah.
Bert Kreischer (3:43)
And you're like, wait, I didn't say that. That's not what that was about.
Tom Segura (3:46)
Because you can shape a narrative you want. That's how like skilled documentary makers, I mean, honestly, I had experience in that a little bit in when I used to work in reality TV.
Bert Kreischer (3:56)
Yeah.
Tom Segura (3:57)
Like in post and I worked in the story department too, but the really talented people at that, they shape a story based on things you've said and they can create a whole thing. Yeah.
Bert Kreischer (4:07)
Dude, Last Comic Standing 2, they made it look like I hated Ant because he was gay. And I was like, dude, this is national television. I mean, yes, I didn't like his lifestyle choice. But I never said that out loud.
