In partnership with Colgate Palmolive, we're breaking down topics like oral health, pet nutrition, skin health and more with the help of expert guests. We'll be swapping stories, learning healthy habits and asking the tough questions like how often should I floss? What kind of sunscreen is right for me?
And finding out what vets wish every owner knew about nutrition.

Alright, welcome to the RealGM Radio Summer Roundtable. I'm Wes Goldberg. On today's show, I'm going to be joined by Mo Dakhil, one half of the Double Dribble podcast and my Good Take host and the author of Basketball Poetry, Mike Shearer, to rank the top five players at each position. We have not seen each other's lists yet. I have a feeling this could get heated. But let's jump in.
All right, I am here with Mo Dakhil and Mike Shearer. Welcome to the RealGM Radio Summer Roundtable. Today, we are going to be doing making a bold attempt to rank the top five players at each position. But before we begin, before we begin here, I'm having Mumble Mouth start today's show.
**Mo Dakhil** (1:50)
Yeah, this is a tough, interesting start. I'm enjoying you fumbling.
**Wes Goldberg** (1:55)
I've been doing two hours of podcasts already this morning, so you'll have to forgive me.
**Mo Dakhil** (1:59)
You're pretty tired at this point.
**Wes Goldberg** (2:03)
We're having a sleep regression at home. It's like the whole thing. You'll know about that soon enough, Mo.
This is, by the way, our last roundtable of the summer. We've really had a lot of fun talking about a bunch of different NBA topics here. We're going to be back to a more regular version of our programming next month. But as always, you could support us by hitting subscribe on YouTube and wherever you get your podcast. So like I said at the top or at least attempted to say at the top, we're trying to rank the top five players at each position. This is not easy in part because I think it's hard to define each position and which player falls into what bucket. So we were all going back and forth on the group chat before we even started doing this on Wednesday afternoon, thinking like, all right, do we just do the traditional positions? Do we kind of go more of like the ball handle or wing center type of thing that we just caught a call these guys big men? We went back and forth. We ultimately decided, let's just play the straight, the five positions straight up and we're going to just try to do our best to put players into these categories, understanding that it might not be an exact science here. But let's just let's get right into it. Let's start with point guard and kind of work our way down from there.
I don't know that there's going to be a whole lot of disagreement with the number one point guard. We're also going to try to come to a consensus at the top five at each position. So Mike, who did you have number one for point guard?
**Mike Shearer** (3:26)
I appreciate the easy one. This one is Shai Gilgeous-Alexander for me and I suspect for you guys as well.
Not much else needs to be said. He's the MVP. He's it for a reason. He will probably, you know, he's still in the peak of his prime. There's no reason to think that he's ever going to be worse than this going in the next year or two.
**Wes Goldberg** (3:43)
Mo, any disagreement here?
**Mo Dakhil** (3:45)
De'Aaron Fox.
**Wes Goldberg** (3:47)
Very good.
**Mo Dakhil** (3:48)
No, no, it's SGA. Like I don't think there's any way to really kind of argue it in any way, shape or form. He's been the best point guard for the past few years at this point right now. And I think it's pretty easy. And I mean, I don't even know if he'll change much next year.
