On September 18th, The New York Rangers kicked off their training camp with a bang.

Coach Mike Sullivan was all smiles after the first day, especially after an intrasquad game that showed a lot of fire.

The blue team took that one four-to-one with goals from Brody Lamb, Adam Sikora, Tye Kartye and Dylan Rubrowick. Taylor Raddice put one in for the white team. What really stood out was the physicality. It wasn't just the casual skate, players were battling for the puck, and it even got a little heated.

There was a moment where defenseman Marc Del Gaizo and the towering Matt Rempe got tangled up, almost leading to a fight. No punches were thrown, but it definitely showed the intensity everyone's bringing to camp. Players like Del Gaizo acknowledged it's all part of the game, especially with a shortened preseason and a longer regular season ahead.

With only four preseason games before the regular season starts, the coaches need to make quick decisions. This means everyone in camp, all 48 players, knows they have to make a strong impression to secure their spot. Captain JT. Miller echoed the coaches enthusiasm, noting the great tempo and good habits being established. He mentioned the team is ready to move past last year and is feeling a lot of excitement for the new season. The energy in the room is poppable, and it seems like the players are genuinely eager to compete and prove themselves. This spirited start sets a strong tone for the Rangers as they prepare for their preseason opener next week. The focus is clearly on building that competitive edge from day one, and based on the initial practices, they're off to a promising start. You've been listening to New York Rangers News Today.
