Today is October 20th. Alright, big win for the Rangers last night. They took down the Ducks 5-2 and kept their undefeated home streak alive at Madison Square Garden. That makes it six straight wins at home, matching the second longest start in franchise history. Not a bad deal at all. So far this season, the Rangers are handling the teams they are expected to beat. Against the squads projected to struggle, like the Red Wings and Canucks, they've outscored them 13-4.

Gotta like that kind of consistency. Rookie goalie Dylan Garand stepped up big last night, stopping 29 of 31 shots. He really helped the Rangers control the pace of the game from the start. They scored early in the first period, marking the second time in franchise history, they've done that three times in consecutive home games.

That excitement can change the whole vibe. Even with injuries forcing some lineup changes, they didn't miss a beat at home. JT.

Miller and the Powerplay unit got on the board early in the second, and the team was just firing on all cylinders. They really capitalized on every opportunity, making it hard for the Ducks to keep up. So the Rangers got back on track ahead of a big night tomorrow with the Knicks celebrating a championship banner. It's definitely a great time to be a New York hockey fan.
