Today is October 19th. This is New York Rangers News Today, your AI-powered team coverage. Alright, big news coming from the New York Rangers. They've just signed veteran forward Luke Glendening to a Professional Tryout agreement. He hit the ice for his first practice with the team on Monday, but he can't suit up in games until his 10 days are up. Then there's the situation with Joe Veleno.

He's going to be out for at least 3 months due to a lower body injury, which has the Rangers on the hunt for a solid fourth line center.

Glendening might just fill that gap until Veleno gets back. Also, Glendening comes with some solid experience. He's had a long career in the NHL, playing for teams like the Detroit Red Wings, Tampa Bay Lightning, and more. With those 13 seasons under his belt, he's racked up 85 goals and 90 assists.

That's a serious resume right there. On top of that, his skill set could be a huge plus for the Rangers. He's known for being reliable, great in the face-off circle, and a strong penalty killer. Gotta have that depth for sure, especially when injuries hit. So, it'll be interesting to see how Glendening fits into the lineup during this time of adjustment. The Rangers are looking to stay competitive, and he might just help keep things rolling while they navigate Veleno's recovery.
