It's October 19th. Alright, so here's the scoop. The New York Rangers just signed former Tampa Bay Lightning forward, Luke Glendening, to a professional tryout agreement. He's hoping to make a better impression this time around. Then there's the backdrop of Joe Veleno being sidelined for a few months with an injury. It makes total sense for the Rangers to give Glendening a shot on this PTO while they figure out their lineup. Gotta have that flexibility, right? Last season, he was with the New Jersey Devils and Philadelphia Flyers. He recorded two goals and nine points, along with 97 hits and a solid 52.9 face-off-winning percentage.
That kind of experience is huge, especially when you're looking for depth. Glendening's previous two seasons with the Lightning were also noteworthy. In 158 games, he scored 14 goals, racked up 18 points, and had 226 hits plus a 56.5 face-off-winning percentage.
Those stats show he ain't just filling a spot. So, it'll be interesting to see how he performs in this tryout, and if he can secure a spot with the Rangers for the upcoming season.
The team's definitely looking to boost their options, especially on that fourth line. Stay locked in with New York Rangers News Today, AI-powered updates. I'm Corey with the story. This has been Teen News Today, powered by AI.
