It's October 17th. Alright, got some fresh updates from the Rangers after their game against the Blue Jackets. They're currently sitting pretty at 6 wins, 3 losses, and 1 overtime loss this season. That's earned them 13 points, placing them 3rd in the league. Not too shabby? Then there's the penalty kill situation. The Rangers went 3-for-3 on penalty kills in this game and have been solid all season, with a 29-for-31 success rate. They're one of just 4 teams yet to allow a power play goal on the road.

That kind of defense is huge, for sure. For sure. Now let's talk about Dylan Garand. He was on point with 29 saves during the game. He's earned points in 4 out of his 5 starts this season, with a record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 overtime loss. Among goalies with at least 5 starts, he's tied for 5th in the NHL with a 0.927 save percentage. That level of play is going to keep him in the mix.

So, the Rangers are looking strong to kick off the season.

Solid all-around performances and that killer penalty kill should give them a nice boost moving forward. Definitely some good momentum going into the next stretch of games. Can't wait to see how they keep it rolling.
