On September 12th, the New York Rangers rookie camp is officially underway, with 24 prospects hitting the ice for drills and practice. This is a clear sign that the new season is just around the corner, and the team is getting a look at its future talent. Three players weren't clear to participate, but one new defenseman was added to the mix. This weekend, these prospects will face off against the Philadelphia Flyers prospects in a couple of exhibition games. It's a chance for these young players to showcase their skills and make a case for themselves. The starting goalies for these games are expected to be Callum Tung and Danai Shaiikov.

It's important to remember that performance in these rookie games isn't always a direct indicator of future success. We've seen players shine here and then struggle at the pro level, and others who might not have stood out initially go on to make a real impact. It's all about development and seeing how these guys handle the pressure. The Rangers are looking to gauge the progress of their top prospects, even those who might be a few years away from making it to the main roster.

This camp and these gains are crucial for evaluating where everyone stands and identifying areas for improvement as the organization builds for the future.
