Today is October 17th. Alright, so the New York Rangers are gearing up for a Saturday night clash with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

They're looking to bounce back strong after a tough loss to the New Jersey Devils that ended up being their worst of the season, losing by a score of 7 to 1

No doubt they want to turn the page on that one. In the wake of that game, they're making some moves with their lineup. They've got a solid record at 6 wins and 3 losses, but they know they need to keep improving at even strength. Gotta find those best line combos, you know? So here's a scoop. Alexis Lafreniere is heading back to the first line alongside Gabe Perreault and Mika Zibanejad. This trio had a strong run together last year, and Lafreniere has been the Rangers' top offensive player this season. Makes sense to move him back up where he can keep racking up those points. With Lafreniere moving back up, Pavel Dorofeyev is shifting to the second line. He managed to score in that rough game against the Devils, so there's definitely some hope for him to contribute more consistently now.

They'll see if that change sparks some goals in this next matchup. All eyes will be on the Rangers Saturday night to see if these adjustments pay off. A win would put them at 7 and 3, which is definitely what they're aiming for. New York Rangers News Today, powered by AI bringing you what matters on the field and beyond.
