The Caps revamped their forward lineup, adding players like Alex Touch and Jordan Kairou. And yes, the legendary Alex Ovechkin will be in the mix. But here's the kicker Ovechkin announced this week. He'll retire after the season. That's gonna change the league for sure. For Rangers fans, facing Ovechkin has always been a challenge. He's been a consistent threat, scoring 46 goals and racking up 28 assists in just 80 games against New York. Looking back, the Rangers have had their share of intense playoff matchups against the Capitals. They've clashed a lot since Ovechkin entered the league in 2004 The Rangers have had some high moments, like their dramatic game seven win in 2015

But Ovechkin always brought his A game, and he's a player you can't forget about. As the Capitals gear up for their future without their star, the Rangers will get a taste of that transition this season.

Four more chances to see Ovechkin in action before he hangs up the skates. It's bittersweet really, knowing you're watching a Legends final chapter unfold.
