Today is October 19th. This is New York Rangers News Today, driven by AI, your team, nonstop. All right, so the New York Rangers are off to a hot start this season. They just picked up their sixth straight win at Madison Square Garden beating the Anaheim Ducks. Last year, they couldn't catch a break at home, losing their first seven games. Talk about turning things around. Alexis Lafrenière is leading the charge, with seven goals and 13 points in just 11 games.

He mentioned how the energy in the arena is electric, helping fuel this strong start.

That's what you love to see. Home ice advantage back in play. The team is scoring first in every home game and even netting early goals, with three games featuring a score within the first two minutes.

Coach Mike Sullivan emphasized building an identity that they can carry no matter where they play. You can feel that confidence building. We can't ignore the challenges though. The Rangers are without their top goalie, Igor Shesterkin, for the season. Dylan Garand, who started as a third stringer, has stepped up big time.

He's performing well, allowing two or fewer goals in five of six starts. That kind of performance is huge under the circumstances. So yeah, it's an exciting time for Rangers fans. With the winds piling up and a new goalie stepping up, there's a lot to look forward to as the season rolls on. Let's see if they can keep that momentum going.
