Today is October 4th. This is New York Rangers News Today, powered by AI, everything happening with your team. I'm Corey with the story.

All right. So the New York Rangers are looking for their third straight win this Sunday. They're hosting the Utah Mammoth at Madison Square Garden, and it's a big one given that they just swept back to back this past week. They took down the Tampa Bay Lightning 5 to 1 at home, then won 2-0 against the Detroit Red Wings. Now they're facing off against Vincent Trocheck, who's making his first return to MSG since the Rangers traded him on July 1st. That trade sent Trocheck to the Mammoth in exchange for defenseman Sean Dursey and center prospect Cole Bodewan. Trocheck's had quite the run with the Rangers, playing 313 games and racking up 253 points over four seasons. He was an integral part of the team and still has solid stats, so it'll be interesting to see how he performs back at his old stomping grounds. The Rangers seem pleased with how Dursey has integrated, especially after his recent goal and a notable fight last game. In goal for the Rangers, we've got Igor Shesterkin starting after making history with the first goalie goal for the franchise. He's been impressive so far with the goals, against average of 1.51 and a save percentage of 0.935 in his two starts. Meanwhile, the Mammoth's Carol Vegemelka, who just shut out the Blackhawks, will be facing off against him.

So, definitely a matchup to catch.

Rangers fans will want to tune in when the puck drops at 6pm ET on MSG, because this one might have some extra energy.
