Today is October 12th. Alright, so let's dive into the Rangers' latest matchup. They rolled past the Vancouver Canucks with a solid 6-2 win at Madison Square Garden. The stars of the night were Tye Kartye and Will Cuylle, each netting two goals, while Dylan Garand held it down and net with 19 saves. But don't sleep on Vladislav Gavrikov, who's often in the shadows.

He lobbed over 20 minutes, impressively contributing to the team's defensive work.

His presence was felt, especially since the Rangers dominated in scoring chances. That's a big one for their defensive game. Gavrikov was also on the ice for four of those six goals and had a hand in the game winner in the second period. His quick passes set up Karty perfectly. He's already racked up five points this season just behind Adam Fox. Gotta give credit where it's due, his contributions are quietly crucial. He leads the team in blocked shots with 15, showing he's got that workhorse mentality. Signed for a 7-year deal worth $49 million last year, he might just be one of the best buys that GM Chris Juries made. Smart reads and strong execution have been defining his game. Looking ahead, the Rangers seem to have found a winning strategy early in the season. And with Gavrikov stepping up like this, it'll be exciting to see how it all unfolds as they keep building momentum.
