Today is October 6th. Welcome in. This is New York Rangers News Today, where your team meets AI. I'm Corey with the story.

Alright, so the Rangers are on fire right now. They just pulled off their fourth straight win, making it the longest active streak in the NHL. It's been a while since they kicked off the season this hot, with three wins at home marking their best start since 2009-10. Right now, New York leads the league with eight points, and their 16 goals scored put them at fourth overall.

They've hit five goals in a game for the second time this season, which is impressive. Gotta love how they've managed to hold leads or stay tied in 14 of those 15 periods. Another cool stat, they haven't let in a single first period goal so far this season. That's the longest streak for them since 1939 Just shows how tight their defense is playing, you know? In the Battle of New York, they took the first win of the season against the Islanders. This victory adds to their track record with winning six of the last eight home games against them. So nothing like a little local rivalry to keep spirits high.

Big shout out to Alexis Lafrenière for notching a hat trick and Oliver Bjorkstrand for getting his first two goals as a ranger. Also, Igor Shesterkin has been solid with his third straight win, allowing two or fewer goals in all four games he's played. A lot going right for the Rangers right now. Can't wait to see how they keep this momentum going.
