Today is October 16th.
Alright, let's talk about the Rangers and their latest roster moves. They just recalled veteran Taylor Raddysh from AHL Hartford after a rough 7-1 loss against the Devils. Jaroslav Chmelar got sent down following a short stint where he barely skated over 8 minutes. That's gotta hurt. Then there's Raddysh. He's had a solid start in Hartford, piling up 5 points, including 3 goals in just 5 games. Last season with the Rangers, he already logged 68 games, so he's got that experience to bring back to a struggling fourth line. Having him back is definitely a boost for the team for sure. Meanwhile, the Rangers have been tied on depth after losing Joe Veleno to injury. Veleno's out for about 3 months, which is a big blow. Cole Beaudoin had a shot in the fourth line center roll, but didn't make much of it. Raddysh could fill that gap nicely.
Also, it's worth noting Justin Dowling got a shot against the Devils but logged just under 8 minutes. Clearly, the Rangers are looking for some stability in their lineup. They've been leaning on 3 lines a lot lately so this shift is crucial. So, the Rangers are making moves to shake things up.
It'll be interesting to see how Raddysh fits back in and if he can help turn things around.
