It's September 7th, I'm Corey with the story, and this is New York Rangers News Today, your AI power team report. So the Rangers are bringing back some familiar faces, specifically former players, to help build up that team culture. It's a move that seems designed to inject some much needed veteran presence and championship pedigree into the squad. One of the big names is Jonathan Quick. This guy is a two-time Stanley Cup champ, a definite Hall of Famer.

He wasn't your typical goalie though.

Think more of a Tim Thomas vibe, a bit unorthodox but incredibly effective. It's interesting because you look at goalies like him, or even Dominik Hasek, they were unconventional but absolutely brilliant. If Quick was directly coaching the technical side of goal tending, that might raise an eyebrow, but it sounds like his role is more about oversight. These hirings by Chris Drury are a bit of a surprise, actually, given his usual approach. But bringing in guys with that kind of winning experience, who understand what it takes at the highest level, it definitely makes sense for what the Rangers are trying to achieve. It's a strategic shift, aiming to leverage the knowledge and success of former champions to shape the current team's identity and drive.
