Today is October 4th. From the locker room to your ears, this is New York Rangers News Today powered by AI. I'm Corey with the story.

All right, big news out of New York. The Rangers are shaping up their goalie situation and is looking real solid this season. Igor Shesterkin's back in action after battling injuries last year, and his performance is a game changer. No doubt they've got the best goalie tandem in the NHL right now.

Then there's Dylan Garand who's stepping up big time. In his recent debut for the 2026-27 season, he noshed a shutout against the Detroit Red Wings, stopping all 22 shots. That kind of start is crucial for building confidence. Definitely a bright spot for the Rangers.

Also, Garand's save percentage is sitting at a remarkable 958 through 4 gains. Plus, he's spining his way into some top rankings with a goal saved above expected of 1.5. That's impressive for any goalie, especially with only one start under his belt. You love to see that kind of potential.

On top of that, Shesterkin's still keeping things tight with a GSX of 1-9, tied for 4th best in the league. Just shows how dangerous this duo can be. Most teams struggle to find one solid goalie, and here the Rangers have two. That's a huge advantage. So yeah, with Shesterkin and Garand leading the way, the Rangers are set for a promising season ahead. If they stay healthy and in rhythm, they could really make some noise during this marathon of a season.
