It's September 28th. From game day to every day, this is New York Rangers News Today, powered by AI. All right, big news out of New York. The Rangers just dropped their opening night roster for the 2026 to 2027 season.

On Tuesday, they're set to hit the ice against the Boston Bruins, and it's going to be a big one. After a rough year, the Rangers are making some serious upgrades. General Manager Chris Drury has made it clear they're retooling, not rebuilding. It looks like they're serious about being competitive this season. The roster has some fresh faces, especially on defense. They brought in Sean Durzi and Marcus Pettersson through trades, plus fifth overall pick Albert Smits made the cut.

That's some solid new talent to beef up the Blue Line for sure. At goalie, they wave Dylan Garand, locking in Joonas Korpisalo and Igor Shesterkin. And on offense, Matt Rempe has secured his spot after bouncing back from injury, along with Jaroslav Chemlar.

It'll be interesting to see how Coach Mike Sullivan juggles playing time with so many forwards. So the Rangers are looking primed for that season opener. With a more competitive roster, fans should be excited to see how it all shakes out against Boston.
