Rangers Aim for Record Start Against Caps | New York Rangers News

It's October 9th. Alright, big news from the Rangers as they look to keep rolling against the Capitals. After a rough start with a 3-0 loss to the Bruins, they've turned it around big time, winning four straight games. That's a huge turnaround from last season's struggles. Then there's the fact that they've shown some serious improvement in starting games. Last season, they often found themselves digging out of early holes, but this year, they haven't let in a single goal in the first period so far. That's the longest streak for the Rangers since 1939

Definitely a solid foundation to build on. Also, they're not just doing well in the opening frame. The Rangers have led or been tied going into 14 out of 15 periods this season. That's pretty impressive and shows they're staying strong throughout the game, even if their only slip was that third period against Boston. But hey, they went into that period tied up, so it's not all doom and gloom.

And if they keep this up against the Capitals tonight, they'll match the franchise record of 16 consecutive periods without trailing at the start.

They've got a shot to break the all-time record of 17 from 1929 if they stay on top after the intermissions. So yeah, it's definitely a thrilling time for Rangers fans. Let's see if they can keep the momentum going when the puck drops at 7pm Eastern on MSG Networks. I'm Corey with the story, and you've been listening to New York Rangers News Today.
