Alright, big news from the New York Rangers today. They're looking to unlock Pavel Dorofeyev's scoring potential after his slow start with the team. They brought him in from the Vegas Golden Knights during the offseason, signing him to a 7-year, $77 million contract. The hope was to add an elite goal scorer to the roster. So far, it's been a little rocky.

Dorofeyev's recorded just one goal and three points in his first seven games, even with the team showing improved offense. That's a bit of a head scratcher, considering he scored 35 and 37 goals in his last two seasons in Vegas. Gotta get him back on track, for sure. To change things up, head coach Mike Sullivan recently switched Dorofeyev on to a line with Mika Zibanejad and Gabe Perreault. Those guys are known for their playmaking, so it's a move intended to help Dorofeyev find the net. Playing alongside them should help create better scoring opportunities.

In his first game with that new line against the Vancouver Canucks, Dorofeyev took two shots but didn't manage to produce any points.

It's tough to watch him struggle, especially since he's had success on the powerplay before, scoring 20 powerplay goals last season. He's definitely got the potential, they just need to unlock it. So, it's all about patience right now. Every elite scorer hits rough patches, but they usually snap out of it. For Dorofeyev, it might just take that one goal to get the ball rolling. Let's see how this plays out as they keep pushing through the season.
