Can we get punchy since we ain't got as many people here? I wanna hear about Nadeska and some R&B. I wanna hear about what you think about this Victoria Monet. I wanna hear about what's going on with Low and the hookah spot this weekend.
Nadeska (0:10)
The first time the Migos collabed with Pharrell was on Stir Fry that was back in 2017 So it's interesting now hearing that play out in a full Quavo project. We'll say this, it's definitely a different sound for him. It's definitely very, what? It's an experimental album, and I can already imagine some of the opinions about to hear, but I will say he tried some things, like hit a lick.
Okay. You know what?
Lowkey (0:34)
No, you told me to be punchy.
Eddie (0:36)
We are being so nice.
Nadeska (0:37)
Okay.
Eddie (0:37)
All right.
Lowkey (0:37)
Finally. Some of these records fucking suck.
Eddie (0:40)
All right.
Lowkey (0:40)
Some of these records are up. Some of these records were a little bit lazy. Some of these records were a little bit redundant.
Eddie (0:46)
Damn. You really sticking with it, huh? You're doing all right.
Lowkey (0:49)
Bro, like am I not supposed to? It's Jay-Z and A. Like I know you said, you said from the first one, you was like, I ain't watching all this shit. She don't got time to watch this shit. She got two babies at home. Crazy career. Ebro has not come back from London yet, so I don't know what the he doing.
Nick is in Jamaica, I think.
Nadeska (1:05)
So I got to do something.
All right. Then there were three. Welcome or welcome back to the Rap Life Review. By the end of this month, this show is going to be just Eddie doing a monologue, or Low just throwing his sneakers at the camera.
Lowkey (1:21)
I'm not going nowhere. I'll be here.
Eddie (1:24)
Losing everybody, man.
Lowkey (1:25)
I'll be here.
Nadeska (1:25)
Nick and Ebro will be back at some point, but for now, y'all have us. I'm Nadeska. This is Lowkey here with me in New York. Eddie is out there in LA, of course. How y'all feeling today?
Eddie (1:36)
Can we get punchy since we got as many people here? I want to hear about Nadeska and some R&B. I want to hear about what you think about this Victoria Monet. I want to hear about what's going on with Low and the hookah spot this weekend.
Nadeska (1:46)
I was just going to ask what you meant by punchy, but you came with the bullet points today.
Lowkey (1:50)
Did you rewrite this shit before you started?
Eddie (1:53)
Look, everybody gone. We don't got nobody to check us. That's Nick's job. We don't got Ebro to turn like, y'all don't know what you're talking about, real hip hop.
Nadeska (2:01)
We can do what we want.
Lowkey (2:03)
I like this pivot.
Nadeska (2:03)
Yeah. I like this pivot.
Eddie (2:05)
Whatever y'all want to talk about, just go crazy.
Lowkey (2:07)
Let's get punchy. Johnny's a three in one. Let's get punchy.
Nadeska (2:09)
I don't know if Thawdience agrees with all of this, but we'll see where this conversation goes. But yeah, he's been traveling a lot like we mentioned. We opened Apple Music Hall out in London. Baby Keem performed this past weekend. A huge performance. You can stream that still on Apple Music if you didn't get a chance to catch it live. Eddie, what did you think? I'm jealous we weren't out there.
Eddie (2:27)
No, it was cool because if you watch, so just context real quick, Apple Music Hall is a brand new space that we opened in London and the Battersea area. It's like this very historic place out there in the UK.
The first performance we had was last Monday. It was Elton John, excuse me, Sir Elton John, very first performance. Then on Friday, we had Baby Keem.
Huge stark differences between those two performances. Elton John was really stripped back. He was playing the piano. Then you go to Baby Keem's version. His performance, complete opposite. It was black and white. He actually has a song called Mosh Pit. They did a Mosh Pit. And of course, it was a whole homage to where he is from, Las Vegas, and the album is called Casino. The set is beautiful. And I'm excited to see what we're doing going forward. If you want more information, make sure you follow Apple Music Hall on socials and you can buy tickets. Because this isn't just a performance, anybody can go. There are really cheap tickets. It's like 40 pounds out there in the UK. If you go to applemusichall.com, you can look up the information. And coming up, we got performances from Burner Boy, Charlie XCX, Chasing Status, and a whole bunch of other artists. And going forward, there will be even more. So it was cool to see. And I'm happy for Baby Kim because as we get further into the year, we're already in October already. Tell them about somebody who dropped an album in January. And I don't know what our attention span is really doing nowadays, but it's a really good album. And I'm glad that he gets to promote the album, what, 10 months later. And it's still like the zeitgeist. And it was dope.
