But, you know what's not hot? A lot of what's going on in the news today, obviously stories that you want to know about, you want to get the deets, I'm going to give them to you. But lots of bad news, unfortunately, including the fact that Trump is considering military operations in yet another country, allegedly to fight Al Qaeda.
But doesn't he like Al Qaeda leaders? Doesn't he like to spray them with perfume? Now I know a lot of people think that Al-Sharah in Syria is like a totally reformed man. Sure, sure, sure. Anyway, we'll get to that story a little later. We're also going to talk a little bit about Pete Hegseth's hearing before the Senate Appropriations Committee that took place yesterday. And he made a fool out of himself, because when you lie, it's very easy for members of Congress who are also liars, by the way, to call you out on those lies. So we're going to get to that as well.

I didn't have time to produce a robust segment on it, but I'm going to give you the important details. So let's get to it.
Well, it looks like Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, might be getting what he wants in merging the Israeli Defense Forces with the United States military. Want to know why? Well, it's because of the fact that the House of Representatives has voted to pass the National Defense Authorization Act with Section 219 intact. Now, of course, that's the provision that allows for the merging of certain parts of the Israeli military with the US military. Clearly, Americans are not in favor of it. It is not something that is even being covered deeply by legacy media outlets, likely because they know that it would be very unpopular with the American people. But I don't want people to give up hope because while this has passed in the House, the National Defense Authorization Act needs to pass in the Senate for it to become law. And there is some good news because of the good work that you all have been doing in pressuring your elected Congress members and pressuring senators. The Senate did strip section, well, their version of Section 219, it has a different provisional title. But they stripped their version of it from the Senate National Defense Authorization Act legislation. So obviously, you can't pass a different version in the lower chamber. So they're going to have to go back and forth until they finally agree on a final version of the National Defense Authorization Act. But I don't want you to think that it's over Netanyahu's getting what he wants. The Israeli military is now baked into the US military. That is not true yet. So there is still a fight to be had and it's really up to the Senate now, which is a little bit devastating. Because I don't really trust any member of Congress at this point. But the fact that we have seen some success in stripping the provision from the Senate version does give me a little bit of hope. Now, with all of that in mind, we need to name names. Now, unfortunately, the vast majority of Republicans voted in favor of the NDAA with section 219 intact. Seven Republicans though did defect and they deserve credit.
