**Luke Spencer** (0:06)
Welcome back to The Podcast That Rocks weekly podcast that talks about news of the world of rock metal alternative and everything in between. My name is Luke.
**Alex** (0:15)
My name is Alex.
**Luke Spencer** (0:15)
And I am still sick of summer, but I also really have terrible allergies right now. So if you see me, if you're watching right now, scratch my nose repeatedly. No, you didn't.
The reason I bring that up also is if you, oh, let me get this propped up correctly. If you like to listen to us on Spotify, and you also want the video file, we're going to start uploading the video file to Spotify as well. So if you have a Spotify premium subscription, you could actually watch the video on Spotify as well. So just a little thing for you.
**Alex** (0:57)
How does Luke feel about Spotify? I wonder.
**Luke Spencer** (1:00)
Well, if you're doing that, that's fine. I totally get like some like, like at work, there's like a lot of businesses that will block YouTube, but they won't block Spotify. Well, now you can do that on Spotify.
I almost forgot to hit the button. Almost.
**Alex** (1:14)
I knew it was coming.
**Luke Spencer** (1:15)
Yeah. So that being said, it's just like an extra step for us now that the feature is enabled. So if you do want to see our faces, you can find that on another platform. However, we are very thankful for all the Steves listening and watching live on YouTube, engaging with all of us real time. If you hit the like button, 50 likes, we'll play around a festival rocker flop. You already have one round guaranteed thanks to a Super Chat. We'll get to all the Super Chats in time. Thank you so much. Yes, Succify.
We got to do better on our insults if we're going to do it that way, you know.
**Alex** (1:50)
Let's think on it, Steve.
**Luke Spencer** (1:52)
Steve, you're more creative than that. So all that being said, Alex, everything good on your end before we get rolling.
**Alex** (2:01)
Yeah, I think everything's good. Yeah, it's a day, Luke.
**Luke Spencer** (2:05)
Yes, it's a day. Let's move on with it.
What was that? Our new segment going to be like the what now hour? What now? Now, just an hour every week, just going over the bad stuff.
**Alex** (2:20)
Easy. Yeah.
**Luke Spencer** (2:22)
Well, we'll fill that hour. Also, final thing before we get to the news stories. Thank you so much to everyone saying hello to my wife in the chat. Steve, say hello to Gretchen.
Also, as an avid Spotify user, I feel unsafe suddenly. Why do you feel unsafe? It's my face on Spotify now.
**Alex** (2:45)
Oh, no, no, it's fine. We don't judge here. Luke might, but I don't judge here.
**Luke Spencer** (2:49)
I'll judge people that use Spotify.
No problem there. Not one bit. So.
**Alex** (2:58)
See, The Podcast That Rocked is about balance.
**Luke Spencer** (3:00)
Oh yeah. That's what that is.
Balance. So, let me share my screen. We do have a little bit of news back and forth and everything to go through. Share screen right there. Wabam. Wabam. Before we get to the main story at hand, we have the worst type of updates that Jennifer Finch of L7 has passed.
They said her form of brain cancer was aggressive. We did not realize. Day's aggressive. I didn't even think that.
**Alex** (3:31)
No, not at all. We, like, it seemed hopeful from everything that was going on. That was such a mega shock and mega bummer.
Mm hmm.
**Luke Spencer** (3:39)
The tour.
L7 could do what they want. This was supposed to be the farewell tour. I wouldn't know what to do at that point.
**Alex** (3:48)
You know, that's really hard. It's like they're probably in the position where it's like, OK, do we go out and honor our our friend and bandmate or we just hang it up? I mean, you would have to, like, work it out in your own mind and work it out within yourself. And I think going out and paying tribute to and paying respects to Jennifer is awesome.
**Luke Spencer** (4:08)
Yeah, I agree. The group quote, We are shattered by the loss of our beloved bandmate, sister and friend Jennifer Finch, whose fierce spirit, humor and balanced creativity helped shaped L7 and changed all of our lives forever. Wrote no longer statement from L7 shared with Pitchfork. Jennifer was a true original who lived entirely on her own terms in the impact she made on music, art and everyone lucky enough to know her cannot be measured. We love her beyond words and will carry her with us always. Rest in power, our D friend with love, L7.
