Today, in the nerdy news you need to know about, PlayStation is rumored to be bringing back some fan favorite franchises. Infamous way you add, let's talk about it. Capcom plans to transform the RE Engine into an AI generation game engine.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (0:15)

Let's go.

Greg Miller (0:17)

Well, that sounds like a terrible idea. And Hellblade Studio Ninja Theory has started laying off staff. We'll have all this and more because this is Kinda Funny Games Daily.

What's up, everybody? Welcome to Kinda Funny Games Daily for Monday, October 5th, 2026 I'm one of your hosts, Greg Miller, alongside Bicep Poppy, Blessing Adeoye Jr. Good day, Greg. Flex on them. Show them off.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (0:52)

Oh, I don't think they look that good on film.

Greg Miller (0:53)

Oh, they look great.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (0:54)

Yeah?

Greg Miller (0:54)

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's good lighting on them, too.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (0:56)

Oh, thank you.

Greg Miller (0:57)

Thank you. How was the weekend?

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (0:58)

Weekend was good, busy. Had a friend's birthday party on Saturday, which was a good time.

Greg Miller (1:03)

Jump change?

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:03)

They themed their birthday party around Game Changers, the dropout show. Oh, okay. Yeah, so a very fun time.

Greg Miller (1:09)

You had been on that one?

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:10)

No, I had been on them, actually. It's a different show. I would love to be on Game Changers. Game Changers, though, it's like hard mode. You know what I mean? Like, it's way more, you got to be good at improv. It's more high concept in terms of what they do in the episodes. You walk in, you don't know what the rules of the game show is.

A little bit like Game Showdown. Game Showdown is very inspired by Game Changers. But they get really wacky.

Greg Miller (1:31)

Legally distinct.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:32)

Legally very distinct.

Greg Miller (1:33)

Yeah.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:34)

You know, distinct from that and from Family Feud.

Greg Miller (1:36)

100%. What? Never heard of that.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:37)

Never heard of Family Feud or Steve Harvey. But yeah, that was a good time. And then yesterday did D&D, which is also very good. Oh, wow.

Greg Miller (1:42)

Yeah, you had Gold Dice I saw.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:43)

Yeah, bought new dice.

Greg Miller (1:44)

Very cool.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:45)

Yeah, last time I was in LA, I was almost in LA. Some people call it that.

Greg Miller (1:49)

Man, making some commentary in there. Los Angeles, isn't he, folks?

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (1:52)

Last time I was there, went to a game store with Janet and Isaiah. And they, and when I was there, bought this like little pack of dice, like these mini dice. They're gold and really nice. So got to bust those out.

Greg Miller (2:04)

How serious in D&D are we right now? Do we have a character we've been rolling with? Oh yeah.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (2:08)

This has been, I think, almost a year of playing.

Greg Miller (2:11)

How often?

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (2:12)

Not often enough really is what it is because a lot of D&D crews, they'll do every week, every two weeks. You know, it's that kind of cadence. For us, it's more so every month or so. And so like the story is kind of moving slow, but it's very fun because I think now we're all in the flow of it to where it feels like I'm playing a video game. Like yesterday, we were in a combat encounter and I could like see it in real time of like me making the, the Star Wars Zero company style. Like, all right, I got to get here so I could do this. And then like, hopefully you can go here.

Think like, did you play Star Wars Zero Company?

Greg Miller (2:45)

I haven't yet, but I mean, I played XCOM. Come on now. I'm a Marvel Midnight Suns. I'm well aware of.

Blessing Adeoye Jr. (2:49)

Think like that, but like there's more freedom as far as what those boundaries are. And so it's like that strategic, you see the board, you see the grid, you know how many spaces you can move or whatever. But then like, you know, we got to shut down these constructs that are guarding this tower. And we're like, all right, we have some NPCs downstairs. Can we yell at the NPCs to see if there's anything we can do? And the DM's like, yeah, I guess we could do that. And we just roll and like roll for it and it turns out, all right, cool. Yell at them and they're like, all right, we can shut things down from here. And now that adds a new element.
