On September 12th, the New York Rangers are gearing up for a new season, and the vibe around the team is one of serious improvement.

After what felt like a rough year, they've been busy this summer, bringing in a lot of new faces through free agency, the draft, and trades. The goal is clear, get back into the playoff picture, and a big part of that hinges on how some of their younger guys step up.

One player getting a lot of buzz is Gabe Perreault. He showed some serious flashes last season, especially when he got a look on the first line, with Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafreniere. The chemistry there was evident, and it really seemed to boost his game. Last year, Perreault put up 27 points with 12 goals and 15 assists. While he's known more as a playmaker, those 12 goals, including a hat trick to close out the season, suggests he's got a scoring touch that could be a real asset. With training camp on the horizon, the team is hoping the new additions provide an immediate spark. With the development of players like Perreault, who showed real promise toward the end of last season, will be crucial for their success this coming campaign. The Rangers are looking for ways to elevate their game, and the growth of their young talent, particularly Perreault, is seen as a key factor. There's a strong belief he could become a solid top 6 forward, and if he takes that next step, it could be exactly what the team needs to make a serious playoff run.
