Hey, everybody, welcome to the PC Perspective Podcast. This is episode 409 being recorded on July 20th, 2016 I'm Ryan Sherrell.

**Jeremy Hellstrom** (0:31)
I'm Jeremy Hellstrom.

**Josh Walrath** (0:34)
I'm Josh Walrith.

**Alan Malbentano** (0:35)
And I'm Alan Malantana.

**Ryan Shrout** (0:38)
It's more than halfway through the seventh month of 2016
I don't know why this came up. I had a conversation with somebody earlier today about how...

**Josh Walrath** (0:50)
You're old?

**Ryan Shrout** (0:51)
Yeah, when you're old, time goes faster, so that you get older faster.

**Josh Walrath** (0:57)
It's funny how that works.

**Ryan Shrout** (0:58)
And it's completely related to being in school. Okay.

**Alan Malbentano** (1:03)
Sure, why not?

**Ryan Shrout** (1:04)
Well, I'm not worried about August 18th going back to school or something like that, right?

**Alan Malbentano** (1:11)
Also, you mean you're not so worried about specific, like...

**Ryan Shrout** (1:13)
I don't have a specific time set goal, like, oh, on this day, my life will change because I'm going to be in school, and then, oh, I'm really just going towards May where I get out of school again and have all this time off. For us, it's just like, it's just another day.

**Josh Walrath** (1:28)
No, I have a different theory about that.

**Ryan Shrout** (1:29)
Oh, okay.

**Josh Walrath** (1:30)
Are you ready?

**Ryan Shrout** (1:32)
Yes.

**Josh Walrath** (1:33)
Okay, so, like, from when you were seven years old, it seemed like that was kind of forever because your lifespan only was about seven years old from when you go from, like, seven years old to 18
It, again, takes forever because you're going through all these changes.
You are doubling your lifespan and more than that. And so everything seems like it goes slower. But then you go from, like, 32 to 42 That's only ten years. That's a quarter of your life. It's a smaller chunk.

**Alan Malbentano** (2:07)
It might be a quarter of your life, my friend.

**Josh Walrath** (2:09)
Well, my life, yeah.
So everything kind of goes faster because your point of view is that it's longer. So a year is actually shorter every year because it's a smaller fraction of your life.

**Alan Malbentano** (2:24)
Huh.

**Ken** (2:26)
So everything sucks as you get older.

**Josh Walrath** (2:28)
Got it.

**Jeremy Hellstrom** (2:28)
Just the general depression and tiredness.

**Alan Malbentano** (2:30)
You lost me at the beginning when you said, once I was seven years old, and all I heard was that song for the rest of it.

**Ryan Shrout** (2:36)
So let's get to the really important questions of the week. How many Pokemans do you guys have?

**Alan Malbentano** (2:40)
Zero.

**Ryan Shrout** (2:43)
Ken, how many Pokemans?

**Alan Malbentano** (2:44)
All of them. And by all of them, he means negative one.

**Ken** (2:47)
I caught them all.

**Ryan Shrout** (2:48)
You did not catch them all. You are a dirty liar.

**Ken** (2:50)
How do you know?

**Ryan Shrout** (2:51)
I don't know. My Pokedex says I have caught 29 Pokemon.

**Ken** (2:58)
How many of those are repeats?

**Ryan Shrout** (3:00)
Oh, no, no. That's 29 individual unique ones.

**Ken** (3:03)
How many Pokemon have you fed to evolve Pokemon?

**Ryan Shrout** (3:06)
Quite a few. I have ground up little Pokemon.

**Jeremy Hellstrom** (3:09)
I only found out this whole cannibalism aspect of Pokemon.

**Ryan Shrout** (3:12)
It's called transferring. Call it what you want.

**Jeremy Hellstrom** (3:16)
Call it Soylent Green for all I care.

**Alan Malbentano** (3:18)
I saw a comic about the transferring thing. It was pretty gruesome.

**Ryan Shrout** (3:23)
Yeah, I mean, all you do is you sort them by their combat power, and you take the guys at the bottom and go, it sucks for you, it sucks for you, it sucks for you. And I want to be very clear about this, about Pokemon Go. My wife made me play this.

**Alan Malbentano** (3:39)
Oh, so it's her fault.

**Ryan Shrout** (3:42)
And she will admit this. She was playing it for several days before I played it. I was like, no, I'm not going to play it. I don't have time for this crap. And I was poo-pooing it, whatever.
And then she gave this line of, why don't you ever like things I like?

**Alan Malbentano** (3:54)
Oh, Jesus Christ.

**Ryan Shrout** (3:56)
Okay, fine, I will download it, and we'll go for a walk together with our daughter, and we'll catch Pokemon.
