Before we get into today's episode, I'd like to introduce you to the Sleepytime team's new podcast, Sleepytime Dreams. This bedtime podcast follows the very same format as Sleepytime Pups, but instead of familiar characters, the stories bring your special dreams to life in the magical world of Dreamland. And just like with Sleepytime Pups, you can request the stories you want to hear.
We'd love it if you give Sleepytime Dreams a listen, a follow, and request a story idea. Let's see what your dreams are made of.
Hi there, welcome to Sleepytime Pups, a bedtime podcast for kids and fans of Paw Patrol. Today's episode is a fan fiction original story, based on one of our favorite shows. Full credit for the wonderful world this story takes place in goes to the original Paw Patrol creators. Get your pajamas on and climb into bed. Let's see what these pups are up to. Sleepytime Pups is pleased to bring you another Paw Patrol original story. Before we head off to Adventure Bay, let's lie down, turn down the lights, and relax with some deep breathing. Grab your favorite stuffed toy and lay flat on your back. Place the toy gently on your belly. Now take a slow, deep breath, and you'll see your toy rise up with your belly as you breathe in.
And slowly breathing out. As you continue to breathe normally, and give your stuffed toy a cuddle, it's time to hear all about the Paw Patrol's latest adventures.
Stuffy Rescue. This story idea was requested for Jack, who just turned five. If you have your own idea for a story, you can comment on any of our episodes, or follow us on Instagram at sleepytime.pups.
Mimi was a soft, blue blanket with a fuzzy little bear head sewn onto one corner.
Jack took Mimi everywhere. She went to the park, to the beach, and even to the dentist.
Just then, a big gust of wind whooshed across the hill. It rustled the grass. Before Jack could grab her, it snatched Mimi right out of his hands.
The little blue blanket floated up, up, up into the sky, flapping like a kite. Jack ran after her as fast as his legs could go, but the wind carried Mimi over the trees and far, far away. Jack's lip began to wobble. He sat down in the grass as a big tear rolled down his cheek. Luckily, Rider was nearby on his ATV and saw the whole thing. Hey there, buddy, what's wrong? The wind took Mimi, Jack sniffled. She's my best friend, and she's blue, and she has a bare head, and she's all by herself.
Don't worry, Jack, no lost friend is too big, no blanket is too small. We'll find Mimi. He tapped his pup pad. Within moments, the pups were gathered at the tower, standing in a line. Pups, we have a mission, Rider announced. Jack's best friend Mimi, a blue blanket with a bare head, got blown away by the wind. We need to find her and bring her home safe. Chase is on the case, barked Chase. I'm fired up, cheered Marshall. Rubble on the double, called Rubble. Ready, set, splash, said Zuma.
Sky, I need you to fly up high and spot where the wind took Mimi. Chase, track her path on the ground. Rubble, bring your digging gear. Everyone else, stay ready. Jack tugged on Rider's sleeve. Of course, said Rider. You can be our Mimi expert. You know her best.
Jack, does Mimi have a special smell? She smells like strawberry shampoo and cuddles, Jack said. Chase's nose twitched.
He led the way through the meadow and into the woods, with Jack and Ryder following close behind.
I see something blue. It's snagged on a tall pine tree near Farmer Yumi's orchard, but it's very high up. We're on our way, Sky, said Ryder. They hurried through the trees until they found the tallest pine in the forest.
Me me, Jack gasped. Hmm, my helicopter's blades might blow her even further away. We need a gentler way. Marshall, your ladder, said Ryder. Rough, rough, I'm ready to help. Marshall pressed his pup tag, and his fire truck rumbled up beside the tree.
Marshall tripped over his own paws and tumbled into a pile of leaves, but the ladder stayed steady.
Okay, Mimi's still a bit too far for the ladder, said Rider. Rocky, can you build something to help? Don't lose it, reuse it, said Rocky. He pulled out a long grabbing claw from his recycling truck and attached it to the ladder. Slowly, carefully, he stretched it towards the branch. Almost, almost, Rocky said, squinting. Got her. The claw gently unhooked Mimi's corner from the branch and lowered her down right into Jack's waiting arms. Jack squeezed her tight and buried his face in her soft blue fuzz. Mimi's little bare face looked just as happy as ever. But as Jack hugged her, he noticed something. Mimi's ear, the crooked one, had a small tear where the branch had caught it. Oh, no! Jack whispered. Rider crouched down beside him. Don't worry, Jack. Mimi's tough, and we can fix her up. Marshall, how about some pup-pup boogie first aid? Ruff, ruff, coming right up. Marshall hopped over with his medical kit. He carefully examined Mimi's ear and pulled out a tiny needle and a bit of matching blue thread. This won't hurt a bit, he promised, stitching the little tear with a few gentle stitches. There, good as new, better even. Jack smiled a huge smile. Thank you, Marshall. Just then, the wind picked up again, whooshing through the trees. Uh-oh, said Skye, not again. But this time, Jack was ready. He wrapped Mimi snugly around his shoulders like a superhero cape, and held on tight to both corners. Not this time, wind, he laughed. Mimi's staying with me. Great idea, Jack, said Ryder. Rubble rumbled up with a big smile. Hey, Jack, want to ride home? Rubble's got room for two. Jack climbed onto the bulldozer with Mimi still draped across his shoulders. Ryder and the pups escorted them all the way back to the grassy hill, where Jack's picnic basket was waiting. Thank you, Paw Patrol, Jack said, giving each pup a big hug. You saved my best friend.
