Today is October 16th. I'm Corey with the story. This is New York Rangers News Today, driven by AI and built for fans. Alright, so the Rangers faced a tough night against the Devils, losing 7-1. It was a rough game, and not much went right for them. The Devils scored early and often, with multiple goals coming within just a few minutes. It's definitely not what the Rangers wanted to see.

One bright spot, though, was Pavel Dorofeyev. He finally broke his goal drought, which had stretched six games.

With only one assist in that span, he needed this goal to regain some confidence. Gotta love when a player turns things around, right? Head coach Mike Sullivan made some changes to Dorofeyev's role. He moved him up to the first line, along with Mika Zibanejad and Gabe Perreault. That switch seems to have paid off, giving him a shot to contribute in a big way. It's all about finding the right fit. Dorofeyev also switched positions on the power play, going from the right flank to a bumper spot.

That adjustment turned out to be crucial, leading to him scoring the only goal for the Rangers. At least they got something to celebrate, you know. So, while the overall result was tough to swallow, Dorofeyev's scoring is a silver lining. If he can build on this, it could help the Rangers turn things around in future games. Definitely something to keep an eye on as they move forward.
