One year after Charlie Kirk was assassinated at Utah Valley University, the official story still feels thin. Tyler Robinson sits charged as the lone shooter, motive foggy, timeline shifting, security questions unanswered.

One year ago today, Charlie Kirk took a bullet in front of college kids at Utah Valley University. He died speaking unscripted, unguarded, unafraid. We're told to mourn respectfully and wait for the government to tell us what happened. It's similar to what the media and government told us 145 years ago, when a Tyler Robinson like character killed our 20th president, James Garfield. Netflix made a mini-series about it, Death by Lightning. The Kirk assassination feels like Death by Gaslighting. This is Deadfire. Grab your Bible.
I admired Charlie Kirk. Bold, honest, godly. Exactly the kind of man and white man America needs. Unafraid to speak politically incorrect truth from a biblical perspective.
Impossible to dismiss as racist or anti-Semitic. That made him dangerous. Dangerous men attract violent ends. That is why it is hard to believe he was simply killed by a crazy, lone gunman with no help and no network. I do not apologize for distrusting the neat narratives. America has sold the lone, crazy gunman for more than 100 years. Lincoln falls in a theater. Garfield falls in a train station. Kennedy falls in Dallas. Charlie Kirk falls on a college campus. Different centuries, same script, one drifter, one gun, no help, case closed, ask questions, and you're the problem. To understand the script, look at what Netflix dramatized. Tells the true story of Garfield and Charles Guiteau. Describes it as a limited series about an 1880s presidency destroyed in 120 days. It is based on Candace Millard's Destiny of the Republic. Garfield was shot on July 2nd, 1881 at the Baltimore and Potomac Station. Guiteau believed he deserved office. He was angry, delusional, rejected, had a relationship with powerful Democrat politicians. Guiteau did.
Garfield, after being shot, lingered on for 80 days, then died of an infection on September 19th. Guiteau was seized on the spot the day of the shooting. He was tried, convicted, hanged on June 30th, 1882
Mental illness, revenge for slight. End of the story. The Republic nodded and buried its president.
Watch that story and you understand why I call the Charlie Kirk assassination Death by Gaslighting the second time. Guiteau becomes the template. Every inconvenient murder gets its Charles Guiteau, its loan file to close so no institution has to answer. Tyler Robinson is cast as the modern Guiteau. Young, isolated, radicalized online. No conspiracy, no failure of a massive security apparatus, no answers about how a 31-year-old organizer, Charlie Kirk, with enemies across the country, ends up exposed on an open college campus. Nope, just one kid and one rifle and one awful day. Follow the transaction. Who benefits when the story stays small? A lone killer means no institution failed. No agency answers hard questions. No university, no security team, no donor network faces reckoning. The funeral ends, the file closes, power keeps its reputation. That is the product, not safety, not truth, control of memory. That is why the fight over Candace Owens matters. Owens refuses the file closed sermon. She points to security gaps, shifting timelines, leaked text messages, unreleased video, conflicting accounts of the rifle and the shot.
True Crime podcasters amplify her. Critics call her reckless, disloyal, conspiratorial. Erika Kirk steps forward to lead Turning Point USA to steward her husband's mission. And any question about succession gets framed as an attack on a grieving widow. It is easy to blast Candace Owens rather than question a government that keeps selling the same story for more than 100 years.
I will not join the Candace Owens Pallon.
A widow deserves honor. A movement deserves continuity. Both can be true while citizens demand evidence. Grief does not cancel inquiry. Loyalty does not require silence. Scripture demands honest weights, no respecter of persons, no witness. That standard applies to the government first, not last. Charlie Kirk told students to debate, to confront, to speak plainly and take the heat. The best way to honor him on his anniversary is to practice what he preached. Demand the full timeline, demand the video, demand the ballistics, demand who decided security that day and why it failed. Do it without hate. Do it without fear. Do it because truth is not disrespect. Truth is reverence. One year later, the question stands, was Charlie Kirk killed by one lost young man or by a climate that made his murder useful, then sold us simplicity to avoid accountability? I know which answer power prefers. I know which answer history keeps handing us. I refuse the easy script. Remember Kirk as he lived. Fearless, clear, unbought, and keep asking until the record matches the rhetoric.
Now, I'm very aware that what I just said is going to trigger and irritate a lot of people. I'm supposed to fall in line, we're all supposed to fall in line, and anything that isn't a harsh, harsh rebuke of Candace Owens is treason and exposes me as a demonic figure. I'm demonic because I won't trash Candace Owens and her true crime podcast.
