Raul Rosas Jr. got the victory in his first ever UFC headliner, but it was not in the way he would've liked as Barcelos suffered a medical issue in the fifth round that led to him getting stretchered out of the octagon, leaving fans wondering what happened.

All right, Mike Heck here from MMA Fighting, and my good friend Jed Mishu is here with me as well, because Jed, the day has finally arrived. It's App Day, the all new SB Nation app. It's live now. It's live, Jed.
Jed Mishu (0:12)
It's alive. Yeah, man, I'm really excited. And it's awesome, man. Combat sports, like all sports, but combat sports fan especially, you guys are gonna have your voices heard like never before within SB Nation. MMA boxing, not me, but you, pro wrestling, Mike.
It's it is a community based app. It's all about community with the SB Nation app.
Mike Heck (0:34)
It's so easy to use and it can keep obviously combat sports fans connected to their favorite teams and all of sports too across the board. So I can keep up with the Red Sox, the Celtics, the Patriots and the Bruins all on my phone. And it's so simple to use.
Jed Mishu (0:48)
Yeah, like you you mentioned those teams, but there's so much more because I don't care about Boston sports, Mike, but I get to follow the NFL, all the other sports, F1, the various sports that I care about outside of combat sports.
And then there's the live experience because that's to me, that's one of the coolest things. You can chat with us during Fight Cards every Saturday, and you can chat with other people in the communities as big events are happening. So it's it's a really good time.

Hello there, everybody, and welcome to a brand new edition of On To The Next One. The Matchmaking Crowns are back after UFC Vegas 121 Sort of a... It's a up and down event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. There is some good. There is some bad. There is some scary, most notably in regards to Hione Barcelos.
But the UFC did provide a little bit of an update, obviously, on the post fight show.
We were sort of reading off different reports and things that we were gathering along the way. But the UFC, about an hour or so after the post fight show, released a statement on the ufc.com website. And here's what it said, quote, Following his fight tonight, Hione Barcelos is immediately transported to a level one trauma center for evaluation. The hospital medical team conducted a CT scan and comprehensive assessments. And he is currently being monitored. Barcelos is stable, alert and responsive with full movement. He will remain under medical supervision, and we will provide updates on its condition as they become available. And Davi Hamos also released a bit of a statement, which was transcribed by our own Gherme Cruz. And this is what he said, Hione is doing well. He has all his senses. He's moving his leg, his arm, his hand. He's conscious. He's talking. Everything is fine with him. He's undergoing some tests, and pretty soon he'll be here to talk to you guys. I just wanted to let you know so you can all stay calm. Keep praying for him. He's undergoing all the tests that are standard in a situation like this. He'll have to rest because of what happened. But God willing, everything will be fine. He'll be here with us soon, and he'll be talking to you guys. Thank you to everyone who's been sending messages, positive energy, praying, and keeping all of us in your prayers. And here's more from Davi, which you can read on mmafighting.com. We had a great fight. We practiced a sport that we can't predict, unfortunately, but we know for sure that we were doing our best. Hione is a warrior, phenomenal fighter, and he showed you that with all the technique he has, all the skill and heart he has, he showed everything about where he wants to go, where we all want to go. With all the work we've been putting in, congratulations to him, and thank you for the messages. Keep praying for him. Pretty soon he'll be back here with us to put on another great show. So that is the latest on Hione Barcelos following, he looked real good in the fight. He was winning three out of the, he won three out of the four rounds. I had it 39, 36 I thought he had a 10, eight round four. And he was just kind of putting the boots to Raul Rosas Jr. And then the fight just sort of abruptly stopped after a takedown and Raul Rosas Jr. gets the win. And we'll talk about where he goes and other fighters as well. I am Mike Heck, by the way. I don't think I introduced myself at the beginning of the show, but you guys probably already know that. I'm riding solo this week. AK has a day off. So it's just you and I. We've got a lot of submissions. Some of you sent to AK, which were forwarded over to me. Some of you sent some stuff on Instagram, which you typically send to AK, but you sent to me instead. So let's get right into it. Let's talk about Raul Rosas Jr, who gets the win in the main event. It's, I don't know how to really describe the win. You guys are all pretty much aware of what happened. Barcelos was winning. He was running away with it. Rosas, to his credit, was super tough, survived some really hairy spots, and made it to the fifth round, knew he needed to finish, and got it in kind of a strange way. I still don't know what happened, because he just kind of lightly took him down, and then Barcelos was just gone. And shout out to Raul Rosas Jr for not inflicting any more punishment than he needed to. He got the win. A lot of people are complaining about the celebration, but you have to understand when you're in those situations and you don't know what's happening, you kind of just go with it. So I don't really blame him too much for that, but some of you obviously disagree with that. But the unfortunate thing, despite him showing his toughness, and despite that fight being an absolute heater, is he's not really going to gain a whole lot from this. I had a lot of questions about Raul Rosas Jr and his ceiling, and I know he's pretty young in the sport, but he doesn't strike me as a guy that's going to be fighting for the next 10 years. He's said it many times. He hopes to be out of the sport by 25 So I had some questions answered for sure. His toughness, his willingness to battle through adversity, those questions were answered, no doubt about it. Do I view him as a guy who's going to fight for a belt or anything of that sort? Probably not, but you never know. Maybe something clicks and he goes on a bit of a run, but I'm not going too crazy here.
