Today is October 7th. All right, big win for the Rangers last night as they took down the Islanders, 5-2. The team really showed up, but it was former Blue Jackets forward, Oliver Bjorkstrand, who stole the show.

Bjorkstrand had a standout game, scoring his first two goals for the Rangers, and his second was, of course, the game winner. That's a big one for his confidence and the team's momentum. He joined New York this offseason on a one-year, $4.5 million deal after a solid season in Tampa Bay, where he netted 12 goals and tallied 32 points. It looks like he's fitting right in.

Before the Rangers, Bjorkstrand had quite the run with the Blue Jackets over seven seasons. He played 382 games, scoring 111 goals and racking up 234 points.

That kind of experience is huge. So it's clear Bjorkstrand's contributions are already making a difference for the Rangers. They'll need him to keep this form if they want to stay competitive this season. Team coverage, powered by AI. This is New York Rangers News Today. I'm Corey with the story.
