All right, what's up, everybody? Welcome to the party. Today is Tuesday, October 13th, 2026 This is Simply Cyber's Daily Cyber Threat Brief podcast. I'm your host, big old cup of coffee and two thumbs. Dr. Gerald Auger coming to you live from the Buffer Osher Flow Studio. Thanks for being here today. You want to stay current on the top cyber news stories while doing them with an awesome, inclusive, supportive, absolute bee's knees community. Well, then you're in the right place. So get your coffee, get comfortable. We got an hour of entertaining, informative content to jam down your gullet. Let's go.
All right, all right, all right. As Matthew McConaughey put it, guys got to say, what's up? I hope you're doing well on this beautiful Tuesday. For those who worked yesterday, like myself, I hope you had a great day, and if you had a three day weekend, holler at you. Super sick, I'm super pumped that you got that three day weekend. I hope you enjoyed the crap out of it, whether it's doing nothing and relaxing, or it's going hard into the paint on a million different activities. Whatever floats your boat is what I'm hoping that you did. Now, right now, we got work to do. This is Daily Cyber Threat Brief. It's a one hour podcast. We're going to be shredding the top eight news stories of the day. And I will give you the headline and surface level information as always.
But what makes this program so special, often emulated, never duplicated, is that we go beyond those headlines to give you additional insights and value, things that you wouldn't get anywhere else, things about experiences in the seat, 20 years of experience, things you should be thinking about when you hear a story like this, or in some instances, realization that this story that we're covering right now really doesn't mean a whole lot to you or to me or to protecting the organizations that we are paid to protect. That's the point here. That's the value. And remember, I'm not an expert in all things cyber. I do love cyber. I do know a couple of things. But the cool thing is Simply Cyber Community, this crew right here I'm looking at, Ian Marlowe, SB Tables, Steven Mount, Glamour Girl, John Plouffe, Binary Brush Bay guys, all of us are here as one large community and that community's got expertise across multiple dimensions. So if I don't have the answer, look to the chat above my head and you will see thoughts. I guess Marcus Kyler often emulated, I've had a couple people recently make an effort to kind of capture the essence of Daily Cyber Threat Brief in their own content. What I will say is, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but the folks that I have seen make a run at doing their own Daily Cyber Threat Brief, don't really capture the essence of what we're doing here. They certainly don't capture the consistency of what we're doing here. But that's a story for another day. Guys, listen to me. Check this out. Marcus Kyler dropping the exclamation point CPE in chat. What is that? Oh, may I point out that every episode of the Daily Cyber Threat Brief is worth half a CPE.

It's where you land. Put your name, your email address, couple of checkboxes, hit that yellow button, and on the 1st of November or around the 1st of November, I will send you an email with all the CPEs you got, and a sweet little PDF capturing the days you were here and the total CPE count you got. Now, I do want to remind everybody because this is still in beta. We've been doing it for probably five, six months now in beta. If you put an email address that doesn't exist, I can email you. I know this sounds obvious, but I had to work through a challenge with one of our community members over the last week where they're putting an email address that doesn't exist. So when it bounces back, I can't help with that. So make sure that it's your name, because it's going to show up on the CPEs. Make sure it's your email address, so I can send it to you. Make sure you check these check boxes so that the responsibility and ownership of what you're saying is true, and then hit the yellow button.
No more screenshots needed. Guys, every single day of the week here at Daily Cyber Threat Brief has a special segment. Tuesdays is Tidbits Tuesday. Drop a little bit about myself, see if we vibe on it. It's always different, never really predictable. We'll have a good one today, I promise you. I'll reveal something about myself. You can either A, vibe with me, or B, throw tomatoes or, you know, virtual tomatoes at me, whatever it is, we'll have a good time with it. Kind of breaks up the show down at the middle of the show. Let's see. Hey, oh, if yes, DJ B-Sec was the the muse, DJ B-Sec was the brainchild behind the automated CPE system. The inspiration that led to the ultimate final rendering of what it looks like today. So DJ B-Sec, thank you. Thank you.
